This is a good compact portable jump start and power bank. I like the smaller size of this unit compared to others that are more bulky. I have not had the need to use this yet but it is great to have the peace of mind that it’s there when needed. This option is superior to jumper cables for several reasons. First of all it takes up less space than jumper cables. Because its a portable battery you don’t need to find someone to give you a jump. If you are stuck on your own you can use this to start your car and get going again quickly. I also feel that this is safer and more foolproof than jumper cables. Since you don’t have to connect to another vehicle there is less risk. I have had this exact experience in the past with jumper cables… I connected the jumper cables to my vehicle, and the other person proceeds to tap the two ends together on purpose to make them spark to make sure that there was a “good connection “ and this burned out one of the diodes attached to my alternator and now my car will not charge a battery which I then had to pay to get fixed later. This device prevents things like that from happening since no connection between vehicles is needed. You can more easily and safely help others who may be stuck without having to worry. This also has a number of safety features built in such as over voltage, overheat, short circuit protection, ect. The alligator clips are also insulated well with only the teeth on the inside that will make contact, this helps to prevent accidental contact. Connections are clearly marked. A light will come on and warn you if connected incorrectly. The cables are just long enough and are joined to a connector that can only go in one way into the device. This is also equipped with a flashlight and a USB port that can be used to charge a cell phone. This can store enough juice for multiple jump starts and there is a nice led display of the remaining battery capacity so that you know when to recharge. Another thing that makes this nice is that is can also be easily recharged via USBC or the standard usb port. This has a rugged casing and comes with a nice case to keep everything together. The one minor issue I have is that the cables should really be permanently attached. If you leave the cables disconnected from the device and loose them somehow you are stuck and you cannot start a vehicle. I can see that it may take up less space that way but I feel like a short built in or retractable cable would be a better design option here. Overall I am pleased with this, it has a good capacity and seems like it’s built to last and will work well. I think this is a good product and I definitely recommend. This unit came 71% charged, and the instructions recommned that you fully charge it before use. To charge it you connect a USB-C cable to the input of the unit and the other end to a power source (the other end of the cable provided is USB-A). It also has a USB-A port which you can use as an output to charge other devices (input and output are labeled). Depending on your charging source and device needs, you may need other cables. Most of my devices use USB-C, so I use an adapter (USB-C to USB-A to be able to plug it into the unit's USB-A output port. Also packed in the carrying case is a short set of jumper cables. Since I would be using it without having to jump start my car from another car's battery, the length is fine. I haven't had a dead battery, so I have not been able to test its ability to start my car, but I have a similar unit at another location which works well, so I assume that this would also. The carrying case takes up a lot of room in the glove compartment, but fits easily under the seat. It is very small and convenient to use to charge a car battery or other 12-V battery (such as a marine battery for your boat). It is quite large to carry for charging phones and other devices, but I keep this in my car (my primary reason for getting it), and it is handy to use to charge devices in my car, especially in an emergency. Another nice feature is the LED flashlight on the end of the unit. The flashlight can also strobe or on a third push of teh button, send a Morse Code SOS signal, a nice touch!

Battery jump starters are really a bit hard to judge until you actually need them. It didn't take long for that to happen. I was in a Walmart parking lot last night and a couple asked if I could help them jump start their car. I pulled out this handy little jump starter and put it on their battery. Their car started right up. The jump starter only dropped form 100% to 98%. One of the things I like about this is the simplicity of use. Just put the cables on the battery, plug them into the jump starter and turn it on. You are ready to go. Almost fool proof. It also features reverse polarity protection, which is nice because it is so easy to hook up the wrong side in the dark. Also, the clamps are heavy duty and very strong, so they stay on the terminal. Like most jump starters, it has a built in flashlight and USB outlet for charging. This can really be nice in the event of a power outage like we had for several days. It has a high quality carrying case and everything fits in easily. I have seen a lot of jump starters, but I have to say that this one is my favorite. High quality and it really works well.

Well, it started a small riding lawn mower, but given the small size of this device, I have doubts it would be able to start a large vehicle. Hooked it up while the display was just over 90%. First crank was rapid, but the mower didn't start. Second crank was much slower. Let the device sit for 30 seconds and cranked the mower again ... back to rapid cranking. Due to other issues with the mower it took a third long-ish crank to fire up. So, yes, the device worked. I'll leave it charge over night and get to 100% before I try it again on anything else. Very small though. Maybe half the size of a carton of cigarettes (even people that don't smoke know the size). Cables are very, very short, only a few inches, barely enough to span a large battery and they're very thin, light gauge.
