  • Great unit. Don’t blame small softeners for issues you have if yours is extremely hard water.
Been using this in our RV throughout the south and west for a couple of years. Having the brass fittings gives piece of mind for durability and minimal leaks at fittings. Works great on all water so far. Even works in Yuma AZ where the hardness is around 50 gpg. Easy to set up and easy to recharge. And contrary to all the whiners out there, it’s not the softener’s fault when you have extremely hard water and you quickly have to recharge the unit. Read the info from water quality experts. Resin is resin in general (well, there are 2 kinds, but this has the standard c-100e). If you have really really hard water like Yuma, you are going to have to recharge often. It’s simple math. The unit can remove 16,000 grains. If your current water has 50 gpg to be removed, 16k divided by 50 is 320 gallons of treated water. That’s all you are going to get out of a recharge. For a hour old of 2 with washer and dishwasher, that’s about 3 weeks for us. If you are using 300 gal per week, plan to recharge weekly. If you need more capacity, no other 16k grain unit is any better, you need a larger unit (or 2 of these in series). And, if, like Yuma, the water tastes salty even after treatment, it’s not the softener’s fault, again, it’s the specific minerals in the source water…no other softener is going to do better (maybe reverse osmosis…but I’m told those use over 9x the water you get out of them to recharge which is waaaay too much water wasted to be of any real use in an RV system). In short, these are quite nice softeners…just don’t blame them if your source water is way beyond normal hardness and you have to recharge frequently…it’s simply the amount of resin that fits in these small tanks (and the hardness of the source water) that drives the recharge frequency. ... show more

  • Why didn’t I buy this 10 years ago? It changed me. Worth twice what you pay.
Outstanding product. Outstanding results. From just about the hardest of hard water to soft and smooth. My beard has not stopped thanking me after my first shower. Dishes are clean. Sink stays polished. It’s soooo so easy to set up. As for it durability. It looks like it could take a bump or two. Moving it around. It’s not light but very manageable for the double standards. Rope handle makes it easier. As for regeneration, I’m not there yet, but I installed a gallon counter to see how far it gets. By the gallons not by the days. Although average should provide a pretty accurate look at it overall performance. Honestly should have had 10 years ago. New tankless water heater required it. Well if you want it to function properly without buildup. Overall I looked at most of them. This one was worth the extra coin and shipping was fast and free. The best way. Press buy! It will physically change your life. posted. 10/6/25 Update to be posted upon registration. With stats. ... show more

  • No more hard campground water!!
I absolutely love this water softener! I’m used to soft water at home and I purchased this for our Fifth wheel camper! My husband thought I was crazy until he took a shower! Now campground water is no longer harsh on the skin and hair! Looooovvveee IT! So easy to use and set up! And easy to regenerate. So far the quality is worth the price! It is a little bulky but we just set it in the back of the truck bed in front of the hitch for travel. ... show more

We have the three cartridge water filter and added the water softener and it has made a huge difference in our water Our skin is not dry after showers and better for our clothes. We use for over a month before changing out the salt. Ours uses Morton salt and easy to clean. We are very pleased. ... show more

  • Excellent Quality!
Being an RV'er in the southwest I stumbled on THE hardest water there is and couldn't survive another day without a softener. ALL my research pointed to the On The Go brand so I ordered up and had it in 5 days during Christmas rush! DO YOUR RESEARCH! Just running water through a softener wont solve all your water problems. Where I'm at the water is salty well water so a softener accentuates this but stripping Mg/Ca and replacing with Na... GREAT for bathing and cleaning but no way can I drink it! Thoughts vary on drinking soft water but this water is too salty to determine if I can. Took a few minutes to hook up and flush. Then let run through your plumbing. IF you're RV'ing in the SW or other places with very hard water note you can have build up in your plumbing that will take some time to clean out with soft water. May need a vinegar rinse to really clean out. Over all my research indicated using soft water is great for RV plumbing and especially the water heater and this is your best option for a portable version. Get this size for 1 or 2 people. ... show more

  • So glad I took a chance on this!
Update: Well after 3 months with this, its getting to be too much to regenerate. Now it only lasts a day after regen. I don't blame the softener, it wasn't meant for this level of hard water. I still recommend as it does work, but again, for water that's not quite so hard. Original post: I live in a double wide trailer with, according to the maps showing hard water levels, the some of the hardest water in the states sitting around 39 gpg. I was dubious about living in a larger space than what this softener was meant for, but since it's only my dog and I, I went ahead and bought it. This little guy is surprising! I do have to regenerate it often because the water is just so impossibly hard here, but let me note I am not stingy with water, I clean a lot and like decently long showers :) I also have to buy bottled water to drink, this water is still not consumable. The softener is a bit heavy to turn on it's head to drain and lug around, but to get decently soft water, I really can't complain! I say decently soft because after regenerating it I seem to only be able to get it down to about 3 gpg, and that lasts for maybe a week. It's not ideal, but it's better than 39 gpg! ... show more
