The media could not be loaded. Like many of you, mine arrived with a non-functional treasure chest sound box. But all is not lost. Despite several claims that the batteries can not be removed to be replaced, that they're soldered into place. Wasn't true in my case and hopefully isn't true for you either. (pictures included) There are tabs to the sides of the battery housings. Carefully lift them. I held down the top of the battery housings so I wouldn't accidentally rip them off the board, and used a small flat head screwdriver to lift the tabs. Needle-nose pliers would probably work better, but I had the screwdriver handy. Once you have lifted the tabs, push the battery from the opposite end of the opening and they should slide right out. The battery that's located right next to the speaker, will need to be slid out at an angle, but there should be enough clearance. Next! You'll need new batteries! Three LR1130 batteries, to be precise. I ordered mine right here from Amazon, they're pretty cheap. Once you have those, just slide them into place, close the tabs, and make sure you're in a well lit room. The audio device is light activated. (video included of my personal results) I hope this helps. XD

The books came in perfect condition, but unfortunately there's no treasure sound effect at all--mine didn't have the sound chip anywhere in the box.😓 I'm going to try to install one myself, so hopefully it'll work!

The media could not be loaded. Love this merchandise, but at first the sound effect did not work and I thought I needed to change my batteries as the other reviews suggested. Turns out the white plastic slip around the metal clip needed to be repositioned because that’s what triggers the sound bit. It stops the metal clip from touching the circuit board while closed, but when opened, the plastic slip shifts and allows the metal clip to touch the circuit board and triggers the sound effect. Look at the pictures of how I positioned mine. If this does not help yours, then try changing your batteries. Best of luck!

I bought this thinking this was a compendium or a review of the series, but it's a nicely packaged version of what I already had which is: The Legend of Zelda Complete Box Set (The Legend of Zelda Box Set). I returned it, but a very nice collection to have Very nice collection in a nice collectible box!

My brother and I are huge Zelda fans, and I wanted to get him something really special for Christmas. I’ve had my eye on this product for a while but had heard a lot of bad reviews. Being that it was such a good looking set, I thought I would take a chance and just give it a purchase. I figured at the worst I could just return it if it wasn’t up to par. I have seen a lot of videos where the sound didn’t work or where the box was damaged etc., but still I took a chance. Let me tell you I was thrilled! Everything was perfect! My brother loved it and I loved watching him open it today. So glad this worked out the way that it did. The sound worked perfectly and was loud enough to hear in a medium sized crowded living room. Product was nicely packaged and looks protected during shipping. There are books for most of the Zelda games, but I do remember reading somewhere that this is not a complete set. I would love to know which books are missing so I could complete his set so I’ll have to do some research. This is a great gift for a collector!
