Great solar door!! Installed this before leaving in a family trip and it worked perfectly and on time. Set for 7am opening and 8 pm closing. Has held up to the elements of high heat, thunderstorms, rain, hail and winds. Bought in June 2025 and now October 2025 we’ll see how it hold up to snow and cold temperatures.     • Best auto coop door i have bought
I have bought a few of these over the years. They were always kind of junky. One had literally a string that pulled the door up and down. One totally chopped the heads off 3 chicks at once. Another was way complicated and looked like it was put together from some kids electronics experiment kit. This unit perfected it. It works everytime. it has a gear that meshes into slots in the door and it turns and the door goes up or down. perfect. And the included solar panel keeps it fully charged at all times. I really like this door and im not losing my girls to predator now (unless they just fail to go in). it beeps before it shuts which alerts them to get in quick. and the girls are usually inside just before it beeps anyway. with the change of daylight times though, i need to figure out how to time them so they dont get left outside. but you can set it to open/shut w the light/dark or on a timer, which was my problem as the days are getting longer the door shut too early. Thats not the doors fault though, thats me for not accounting for that. now i know. ... show more

    • This saved us time, sleep and grief! Great quality and protection
This thing has saved us time, grief and gas! Easy to install, easy to program and adjust as the daylight hours change in the winter and summer. We set up the solar panel and have the battery as back up. We purchased this door during a remodel of our home when we lived off site. Before we purchased, we lost a hen a day to a predator so we knew we had to secure the coop at night! During the first day we drove over to “let the girls out” and “put them up for the night” as usual to make sure the door was working. Success! The chickens adjusted quickly to the new routine. We’ve always had a few that were stragglers when it was time to go up to bed and we also have a rooster that likes to sleep in the open doorway (good job buddy!). They quickly adjusted to this new door. We watched in close while our rooster was sitting in the doorway and its slow enough and gentle enough that he knew he should move out of the way. Success! Now we are looking to get a second door- this time for the new duck house. Can’t beat the price or the value of knowing that a quality tool gives us peace of mind. ... show more

Installed in May 2025. Stopped working in January 2026. Thought it was the solar charger then connected a normal outlet charger and still didn’t work. Green light turns on but nothing on small screen.

This door was a simple installation worked as it should . 6 months after installation had an issue with it contacted the seller they were very prompt in addressing the issue and within 3 day I had a new door.very pleased with the seller and the door.

It has been a few months , North Eastern U.S., sun seems able to keep door charge and operating consistently! I have bought 3 other doors but the cord on this one (to solar panel) really seems to make a difference!
