I absolutely love this door. I have had it for almost a year, and have had very minimal issues (only 1, addressed later). Very easy to program, I am constantly changing the times due to the sunrise and sunset always changing; we always have a chicken who is late to bed so I adjust to close 15 after sunset. That being said, the buttons have held up to all my mashing spectacularly. I installed on the side of our run we cannot see from house, so I cannot comment on the remote aspect of the item. It has lasted through the winter, never failing to open even during a mostly all cloudy week. We charged inside before installing, so it started at 100%. Our solar panel is not located in the most sunny section of their roofing, so I wouldn’t say that’s super important either. The size is perfect for all my chickens to fit through. In fact, the neighbors peacock somehow fits through as well to come steal his nightly dinner from my ladies run before heading home. He is also their great protector, so his presence continues. The only issue I have had with the door is after a big rain. Dirt had splashed down on the ground directly in front of it, making the closing and opening action not able to happen due to dirt flying up inside. The fix was a water bottle, spraying water through both tracks, and again as I opened and closed the door (mildly assisting each action) to clean it out. The solution to that is a mat or piece of plywood in front of the door to prevent the dirt splashing up into track. I would recommend this product to anyone. We no longer have to plan any nightly outings around the chickens bedtime, nor do I have to rush out at dawn to release my tiny raptors. We use this particular door on our run with separate doors on the coop itself, but it would undoubtedly be an excellent selection for a coop door as well.

Hands down the best purchase I made for my chicken. Absolutely was easy to use, to install, and functions so well. Saves electricity as it’s solar powered. Worth buying. I don’t have to get up and open their coop anymore, their door is timed to my liking or even optional to time with daylight/night.

Didnt last long. Got less then a year out of it. Worked fine then just started beeping all the time. Track is clear, battery is charged and is not stuck, works as it should. Beeps then takes a ten second break then beeps for a good bit and starts all over. Just waiting for it to stop working. There are better brands out there for sure. **** UPDATE **** Company sent me a new door and it is working great. Customer Service is A+

I wish I would’ve gotten this before I lost most of my flock. My husband installed it easily and it works great super easy to change settings. Don’t have to hold onto instructions. The instructions are right on the door itself. Highly recommend. Building another coop for my ducks and will be getting another one.

Updated march 10 2026. The seller offered me a free replacement since the original stopped. It arrived within days of contact and the new one is working great. I appreciate the customer service. Purchased oct 16 2025 and it stopped working feb 15 2026. Only lasted 4 months and the door won't open or close. No changes were made to the timing since it was installed.

This thing has saved us time, grief and gas! Easy to install, easy to program and adjust as the daylight hours change in the winter and summer. We set up the solar panel and have the battery as back up. We purchased this door during a remodel of our home when we lived off site. Before we purchased, we lost a hen a day to a predator so we knew we had to secure the coop at night! During the first day we drove over to “let the girls out” and “put them up for the night” as usual to make sure the door was working. Success! The chickens adjusted quickly to the new routine. We’ve always had a few that were stragglers when it was time to go up to bed and we also have a rooster that likes to sleep in the open doorway (good job buddy!). They quickly adjusted to this new door. We watched in close while our rooster was sitting in the doorway and its slow enough and gentle enough that he knew he should move out of the way. Success! Now we are looking to get a second door- this time for the new duck house. Can’t beat the price or the value of knowing that a quality tool gives us peace of mind.

Been using all summer through rain storms that lasted a week heat that would fry bacon on a sidewalk and everyday the damn thing worked it’s battery is amazing along with the solar panel easy to install looks great on the side of the coop and I tested the safety of this thing and no it won’t smash your chicken I put my hand in it when closing and it hit and instantly reopened then tried to close again as far as the sturdiness of this thing well nothing has gotten in or out of the coupe in the 8 months I have had it installed and the only maintenance I have done is to shoot a little dw40 in the rails and motor area and clean the grit and grime out of the tracks it was grinding when going up or down there was quite of bit of debris in the track and it powered through it though functions perfectly never let me down so far and so worth the money and if it ever breaks down won’t hesitate to spend the money to buy the exact unit again
