I often camp in sandy soil. Round stakes just slide out, no problem. These are wide enough to get sufficient purchase in the terrain. A mixed blessing is their lightness. Great for travel, terrible for durability. I had one fold over backwards when trying to hammer it in. But the rest were fine, and sufficient for the task. Awesome stakes that easily handle sandy beaches and constant wind. We bought these after bending original thin stakes on first use that had no grab and gave way to the wind. Recommend using a small hammer to pound into sand for good grip. Note that because of high winds and constant friction, the original tent tabs have been sawed in half, rendering it useless to attach stakes. We're going to add grommets to the extended floor flap and use paracord to attach to stakes. First picture shows what beach tent looks like buffeted by constant wind not using stakes, which were left at home. Second picture shows tent is fully extended and secure not affected by wind.     • Beach camping in very high winds. Needed long stakes to keep tent intact. These worked very well.
Kept the tent secure. Stakes were easy to drive into sand and removed easily with claw end on hammer. I recommend them.

Bought these for our beach trip to tie down our awning on our truck. I have used the parachute pouches in the past and wasn’t able to find them in stock. I came across these stakes and I’m happy to report They held our awning down in very strong beach wind. I like how they can be used as a dead man, buried in the sand, although I did not have to go this route. Couple friends ordered some after seeing mine.
