Final review: The vendor sent me a new printer, free of charge after my review below. The new printer has been used well over 200 times since then and has worked flawlessly. Therefore, I have updated this as my final product review. When it actually prints a label, it comes out great. But it consistently wastes 2-3 labels, only printing a small portion of the label and then stopping. 1st attempt printing success is about 50%. Update: The printer has completely stopped printing a full label (see photo). Seller contacted me and offered a replacement. Update 2: A new printer was sent to me and the first few labels have printed great. The customer service was very good. If the new one continues to print well, I will upgrade my review accordingly. ... show more

I was keeping my fingers crossed buying this particular thermal printer. I read a couple negative review just to get as much information as I could because I'd been using my actual printer and was on the fence about buying a thermal printer for labels at all. I'd previously bought the labels because I saw how much cheaper these were for the amount and price. But! The ink smeared. So...saying I really didn't understand Thermal Labels or Thermal Printers. Well.. 5 stars. Easily. Don't forget to download the driver and you're in business. Load up the paper.. and you're in business immediately! Very easy to use. Hooked up to my HP laptop.. just make sure you select which printer you want to print letters from labels.. Quality if excellent. Dry.. lol! Compatible with my laptop, compact. If you're on the fence and not technology inclined... and wanted something to print your shipping labels.. this is it. ... show more

From the outset, the printer failed to work, leaving me with a product that did not live up to its promises. The most glaring issue was the lack of functionality right out of the box. Despite following the setup instructions meticulously, the printer simply refused to work. The high-speed USB thermal printer was anything but high speed in my case – it was practically non-functional. Adding to the frustration was the absence of readily available drivers. I had to spend a considerable amount of time hunting down the necessary drivers to make the printer operational. This unexpected hassle added unnecessary complications to the already disappointing experience. Considering the investment made in this product, I am deeply dissatisfied with its performance. The inconvenience and time wasted on troubleshooting have left me with no choice but to seek a refund. A product should work seamlessly, especially when marketed for a specific purpose like shipping label printing. I would strongly advise potential buyers to reconsider purchasing the OFFNOVA Shipping Label Printer based on my regrettable experience. The lack of functionality, coupled with the need to locate drivers independently, makes this product a regrettable investment.     • Needs a little massaging to get it up and running under Linux. Works well once configured.

Got it up and running on a linux server with little trouble. Got the Debian package linux driver from Offnova, filename Linux-driver-2054n_v4.deb. Would not initially install on a Debian 13.4 Trixie system because the deb requires libcupsimage2, and in Trixie that package has been renamed libcupsimage2t64. Decompressed the deb file, decompressed the control.tar.xz, edited control to read Depends: cups (>= 1.2), libcupsimage2t64 (>=2.0.0), recompressed control, repackaged the deb, and it installed fine. I have CUPS set to expose the printer to my network via airprint and IPP everywhere and it works fine from every mac, iphone, windows and chromeos device I've tried, without any drivers or installation required. Not sure about longevity or durability. I've been using it for five months with no major issues. Print quality has been excellent (for labels). A couple of failure to feed errors, where I've had to reprint, but it's rare enough that I'm fine with it. At the price it's hard to complain. ... show more

It works as it should, perfect for what I need it for, I keep it on my desk and keep the USB plugged into my computer at all times. Theres no delay between clicking print on my PC and it actually printing, got a stack of 4x6 labels and had to adjust the fill size slightly so it prints on the full surface of the sticker but thats no big deal at all, only small complaint is I feel sometimes it does not print as "dark as it should" but other than you cant beat the value for your money, IF YOU PLAN TO USE IT FOR THE APPLICATION IT IS MEANT FOR, ignore the bad reviews of people who bought this not realizing it will work for their current application. ... show more

This an absolute game changer! So glad I invested in a thermal printer for my shipping labels. I've only had this teal baby for a couple of hours, but I am loving it already. I was quite hesitant to purchase this cute little printer because there were some negative reviews with people complaining that it was so difficult to set up or to get it print the labels. I'm in my fifties and have had little to no issues, though there are a few things to consider, so perhaps this will help someone. First off, I have a PC, and the driver installation was a piece of cake - download, install, approve through firewall, done. The instructions for MAC seemed to be a bit more involved and described more steps, so I cannot comment on that. I'm printing labels through ebay, and it is there that you have to adjust the label size. It's on the page where you purchase your shipping label; on the 2nd page "Ship Your Order" you can adjust the label size on the right hand side, bottom "print format" - change it to 4x6. That's all. Also, make sure the label is not upside down in the printer feed, that can be easy to miss if the backing doesn't have any writing on it, otherwise it'll spit out blank labels. Overall I found this to be a breeze to set up and get printing. It's already a massive timesaver for me and will cut postal office trips and standing forever in line. ... show more
