I bought these to haul kayaks for fishing in lakes. The instructions were somewhat unclear of which bar goes where. Had to figure it out on my own. It helps to have someone help while installing. There is a key to lock and unlock them for installation/ removal. I feel like they sit pretty far back in my roof but it could just be me. I had to stretch them some to fit over my rails on my roof since it was such a tight fit. I've taken them through the automatic wash a few times with no damage. I have yet to actually strap something down on them so I'm currently unsure how strong they will be. Update: I've had the crossbars for about 2/3 months now and I've noticed some rust where the screws are. I removed them from my car and have stored them in my garage since. I have a 2017 Ford Edge SEL.

Attempted to install on my 2013 Santa Fe XL. Despite the description and the product attributes, they just weren't wide enough to install, even at the outside of the adjustment range. They were marked "95cm" and if that's accurate, a 97 or 99 cm set would have worked fine. As it is, I returned them.

Very sturdy, but was a pain to apply with only one person. Survived 0 degree weather and 1000 miles on the road. Great purchase for the price.

I used this to hold a cargo carrier when I moved from South Dakota to Arizona- it held up well with no problems. I was surprised by how little wind noise there was from the cross bars and the cargo carrier. It was harder to install than I thought it would be - we had to adjust one of the bars to be wider than it was designed to be, so only one bolt was holding it, on one end. But even with just the one bolt, it held up very well and I am very pleased with these bars.

Excellent product !, although I have not tried to put weight on the bars yet, it looks very elegant in my vehicle. When ordering the product I thought that the bars were thinner and on the contrary they are quite big! It is the next vacation, I will release them.
