I've had this for 6 weeks and use it almost daily. I purchased the item when my stove was being repaired, it was going to be a couple of weeks before the part came in so I purchase this burner. I thought it would be an occasional use item but it is now my go to. Fast heating. Large surface. Easy to clean. No funny cycling, consistent temperature. My oven is repaired but this still comes out daily, I'll be replacing my oven soon with an induction unit. As a side note, I have found this works well with my canning pressure cooker and water bath. It will always be useful.

About 10 years ago I purchased an induction stove from Sears. Unfortunately it ended up being a lemon. After replacing control boards in it three different times in only a few years, I replaced it with a more reliable stove. However!! I absolutely loved using induction! It cooks faster, and is much less expensive to use. Did you know that you can place a towel over an induction burner, and then put your pan on and cook? It will not damage the towel in the least. They will tell you not to do this, but I used to do it all the time to keep my stove clean. This particular cook plate is not nearly as strong as my range wa. It does not boil water nearly as fast. But I absolutely love using it! I have a whole set of pans that work on induction, so now I have my induction plate, and whenever I need to use the stove top I just pull the plate out and use that instead. This one is very easy to use, and very easy to keep clean.

This is the third Nuwave induction cooktop I've purchased -- upgrading each time. Wonderful product. I'm elderly and disabled, living independently. Using induction takes away the fear of getting burned or leaving a burner on. It takes away the worry of accidental fire. It's an extra layer of security and safety for me. It works BETTER than a regular hotplate or stove because you can control the temperature precisely. When I was younger with kids around, it would not only have been safer, but would have added an extra cooking surface for big family meals. I'm very happy with my purchase and can't recommend Nuwave highly enough. I just gave my daughter one at Christmas. They make wonderful gifts.

It cooks fine. The frying pan is heated uniformly. But there is no power-switch, one has to pull the cord out from the wall outlet. Timer is cumbersome to operate. If I need to set 3 min it takes 10 clicks to do it. The temperature is adjusted in 10 degree increments which is too coarse.

We are converting a cargo trailer to more camping and wanted something little nicer to cook on instead of a camp stove. I tried it out last night to boil water just to see ease and how fast it boiled. Loved it, easy to use and understand and I want a full on induction stove in my house now!!

This is the 12" cooktop unit. Works well! Appreciate the ability to set the temperature as well as selecting various power ranges. A cookbook is available on Nuwave's website. This item is light weight and can be stored out of sight until needed. Can be used outside on the picnic table or indoors on the counter. The only down side is not really an issue specific to Nuwave, but all induction cooktop units, and that is it cannot be placed directly on top of an existing cooktop, whether electric or gas. The magnetic field developed by the induction coil will interact with not only what is on top but also potentially below it. That makes my specific use somewhat limited since I have to put it on different counter space. I wanted to be able to put it on the existing cook area, but of course will not. This is not a deal breaker for me, but others might want to be aware of this limitation.

I bought this Nuwave inductor model, as a step above another model they have because of its larger induction area. This allows for a 10" pan induction surface, while most others only give 8" diameter of heat. What you give up is some wattage, offering 1500W compared to 1800W on some other models in this price range. I found this to be a good compromise. The unit starts up fast, and will not operate if you don't have an induction pan on top of it. Nice safety feature. I also like the extra diameter of the cooking surface, holding 12-13" pans/pots if needed.
