    • If you're sick of chopping herbs and garlic by hand, get this now!
This is a wonderful little device. I got it because I've been growing lots of herbs and wanting to make things like basil pesto sauce, and herb-butters, without spending hours on the chopping board, and also to be able to finely chop extremely hot Scotch Bonnet peppers (for making a fermented pepper mash) without getting any of the juices in my eyes or on my body. This little gadget quickly whizzes dry ingredients into proper tiny bits, without liquefying them. Does the job in literally seconds and then is extremely easy to get the contents out, no scraping down around deep blades as with the old blenders. The blades just lift out and rinse off, leaving a cylindrical container that is simple to scrape out with a rubber spatula. The base of the device does double duty as a lid, so that if you care to store the contents you have processed in the plastic body, you just pop it on top of the canister, after you remove the motor and the blades. It comes apart so easily. It's small and doesn't take up a bunch of space on your counter and makes formerly tedious jobs literally last seconds. My housemate thought it chopped the onions too finely, as he prefers chunks. I suppose it depends on the recipe. Since I'm mostly dealing with canning, preserving, and flavoring butters and cheeses, I like things diced finely so that is not an issue for me and certainly worth it to not have to chop onions by hand!     • This is a very good and versatile chopper !!!
First, This is a long winded review, I am over 60 Dad who loves to cook and bake and now lives alone with just my dog (Lucy). I do have two wonderful adult boys who are out on there own. I bought this a few years ago because they would come over for dinner without any warning. They really looked forward to our meals together whether it was a big spread for dinner or some delicious waffles for breakfast. It never mattered what time of day it was, they knew when they were here I would prepare something delicious. But I found I needed a chopper to speed up my prep time !! They enjoy my cooking because I take the time to make my food, unlike many who open cans or boxes and we’re never taught how to cook or bake. I have had this for a couple of years, I originally bought it to chop up some veggies, and to speed up my prep time and it did a great job. At that time I was enjoying cooking and doing quite a bit, and trying to make everything from scratch. But as time went by the kids had moved into the fast lane of life and I have no regrets, but making a big dinner for one (me) just got to be too much. So my little chopper started living in the pantry (I actually forgot I even had it). I want to mention that I have a full sized have a Cuisinart Food processor, but to get it out of the pantry and to actually use it, was just a pain. It was too big for what I needed. I also want to mention that I also have a little Havanese (Lucy) who is my more than just a dog, she is my companion/friend. So recently Lucy got sick, still not sure what is or was wrong with her since I am still treating her. I had done a lot of research and had put her on a rice and boiled chicken diet. This works pretty good, but cutting up the cooked chicken was not really doing what I needed. Then I remembered this little chopper. I got it out of the pantry, cleaned it up, and put it back to work. It really does a fantastic job of cutting up the chicken and at the same time blending the chicken and rice and some of her dry food together. Fantastic!!! Problem solved, now she eats all of her food, instead of just finding the chicken and pushing the rest out on the floor. I am already coming up with some other uses for this little chopper. And if it get worn out or if it develops some cracks, whatever, I will just get another one. In fact I may just get another to have on hand. I see a lot of comments about cleaning the area up where the motor sits on the lid, what I do is put about 3/4 cup of water with a couple of drops of dawn, then run the machine for a couple of seconds, ta-dah everything is clean. A quick rinse of the base and a paper towel to dry up my by the gear and I am ready use it again. ... show more

    • Finally, a great chopper for a great price!
After years of using the Pampered Chef hand food chopper and going through several of them because the plastic always cracks and breaks, I decided to try the Ninja Food Chopper Express Chop. My husband and I have been using this for almost a month now and we are very pleased with it. I have a food processor for the big jobs but I don’t use it much - too much trouble to get it out and to clean it. This chopper is a breeze to use. Only wish I would have bought one about three hand choppers ago. What I like: So easy to use Safety feature - Blade won’t work until you put on the top (power pod) so there’s no chance of cutting yourself while adding food to the chopper. The lid that goes on the bowl keeps food particles out of the mechanism. I also use the lid on the bowl to store extra chopped food until I need more. The chopper is a breeze for easy cleanup. I just put the bowl, lid and blade in the dishwasher - cleanup is done! Takes just a few taps on the pulsing button to complete the task of chopping nuts, onions, celery, carrots, etc. I haven’t processed any herbs yet - will have to wait until this summer to try that. Noise level is minimum since it chops so quickly. Usually 3-4 taps on the pulser completes the job. Much less effort than using a handheld chopper! Cons The cord moves with the chopper when tapping the pulsing button. Not sure if I’m just doing something wrong but it twists to the left as I’m working. I would highly recommend the Ninja Food Chopper Express Chop. Great product for a great price! ... show more
