Nuvo H2O filter does not soften your water it treats it as advertised, it definitely keeps the minerals from collecting in your plumbing system . I use this filter in conjunction with a 5 micron Gac filter and a 5 micron sediment filter. It takes about 3-4 months before you start noticing the difference. Note that everyone has water from different sources City, Well etc. and each system is specific so before you purchase get your water tested so you know what your PH level is as well as your alkaline levels are that will let you know if other filters are needed in conjunction with the Nuvo H2O . I’ve been plumbing Contractor for 44 years and I highly recommend these filters.

I was a little afraid to take the plunge and order this product. However, I'm glad we did. Due to the way our water is plumbed, we could not use a salt water softener. I installed this system in a bedroom closet (I didn't want to put salt in a closet.). I did the work myself using pex. It wasn't that hard…kind of like using Legos. We've had it installed for 5 months now, and the original cartridge seems to still be working. (It's just my wife and me living here.) We live in OKC, and it is working for our water. The instructions say that your water's PH level needs to be above 7.2. I would assume this might have something to do with some of the bad reviews, so CHECK YOUR WATER'S PH LEVEL. :) We bought this house, and it was only a year old. This means our dishwasher had only been used for a year. I seriously thought we were going to have to buy a new dishwasher. I had our water tested. It was somewhere between 16-17 grains (I can't remember exactly.). We bought an electronic water tester for our reverse osmosis system, and our water reads at around 450…which I believe is quite high. Anyway, the Nuvo H2O saved our dishwasher. It was hardly able to run is was so clogged with hard water deposits, but after using the Nuvo for a few weeks our dishwasher was clean and ran like a champ. On top of that, our dishes are actually clean. (We had stopped using the dishwasher, because our dishes looked so terrible.) I might add that the dishes were amazingly clean after this installation. We added Wave Jet Auto Dishwasher Rinse Aid, and our dishes are super squeaky clean. You'd never know we have hard water. I understand that not everyone has had this experience. Bottom line, check your water's PH level and go from there. Don't expect this to be a water softener. It can take care of hard water buildup, but you will not get the same slick feeling you get from softened water. There will still be some hard water scale, but it isn't the same. It tends to build up in our bathroom sink drains, but it's more of a powder. It wipes up with a paper towel. I don't understand it, but that's the way it is. We are very pleased with this product!

Seamless ordering process. I have the unit installed over 5 years ago, and have faithfully changed the filter every 6 months. I still have issues with hard water staining. I may have to go to a salt based water softener.

Filters for Nuvo H20 water softener -- arrived in just two days via Amazon. However.... I also ordered the Nuvo H20 water softener into which these filters will eventually be installed on the same day.... and it will be about a WEEK more before it arrives! I wish Mammoth of Murray UTah also sold the water softener, not just the replacement filters! I would have received the softener probably in two days as well! Not a big deal, because I won't install either of these replacement filters for another six months or so. The (small size) softener suggests replacement after 6 months or 20,000 gallons, so there was no real rush on the new filters! But.. thanks for shipping the correct product, and shipping it so quickly!

I have used salt-based water softener units for many years. To be able to drink tap water requires installing a line from the water main into the house. Refilling the units with salt has always been inconvenient, so I decide to try the NuvoH2O unit. I liked it from the start. It was easy to install (once I ran the proper piping and elbows). I replace the units about every 6 to 9 months. We don't use that much water in the house, so I don't see the need to replace the units as often as the company recommends. I've never had any problem with the unit or the replacement cartridges. After using the salt-based units for many years, the water does not seem as "soft" as I expected it to be, but I'm happy with the unit overall.

I installed the cartridge following the printed instructions on the cartridge wrapper to a tee only to have the water in my home turned a vivid blue. I had read many reviews about this problem, but I thought other people simply did not follow the instructions. I contacted NuvoH2O by text and to their credit they responded immediately. However, I was sent via email the proper procedure, which was totally contrary to the cartridge instructions, and warned not to drink any of the blue water. Long story short, after wasting hundreds of gallons of water flushing the copper pipes over 2 days and replacing the refrigerator filter, the water is clear again. I removed the filter and returned it for a refund. I will never use the NuvoH2O system again. I was talked into the system in 2016 by a so called reputable plumber in lieu of a tried and true ion exchange (salt) system. I never thought the NuvoH2O really worked, especially as concerns water softening. All in all, a hard over $800 lesson learned.
