I bought this nugget ice maker back in November as a Christmas present to myself.....and my family. We use this device daily and have completely stopped getting ice from the fridge. This machine puts out lots of ice quick and is very simple to operate and maintain. The ice is soft and crunchy making it delightful to chew on after finishing a beverage. This ice pairs excellently with a cold Coke by the way. Unfortunately, in early March of 2024 we started having some random issues with the machine that I thought would require a replacement. So I contacted Beverly with the devices' customer service and she took me through a process of possibly getting it replaced. The device suffered a few more issues after contacting customer support, but eventually fixed itself. No replacement was required in the end but I wanted to commend the excellent customer service provided by the manufacturer. They were very responsive and helpful every time I talked to them. If I do wind up needing another ice maker down the road, I will be sure to give this machine another go or trying any other nugget maker this manufacturer produces. ... show more

So, I was asked to see "if Amazon has an icemaker." Of course Amazon does. The question is, does Amazon have the right ice maker for the right price? TLDR - Yes! It makes little tiny ice pillows just like Sonic. It's a little noisy. You're going to have to figure out how to store it unless you want to keep the machine running 24/7. But it makes little tiny ice pillows! The longer version of the story is as follows. I did A LOT of searching through Amazon to find the right ice maker. There are a bunch that talk about 'small nuggets' but they're not little Sonic-sized pellets. They're more like baby cubes or bullets. There aren't a lot of pellet/pillowed ice makers on the site that I could find until you start getting into the 'high' priced options. The Good - It's pretty darn easy to get your own tiny ice nugget production rolling pretty quickly. Open the box. Wipe down the insides per the instructions. Fill to the fill line. Plug it in and push the button. In about 30 minutes/hr you've got pretty full tray of tiny little nuggets. They're the perfect size for ice chewers and the people who very specifically like this type of ice. The Bad - Like I mentioned above, there are a bunch of ice machines on Amazon, and in varying price ranges. There are considerably less machines on Amazon that make tiny ice nuggets/Sonic-style ice. (And to be clear, it's not exactly Sonic's pillow-ice but it's close. See photo) There aren't a lot of 'affordable' options out there. This one was among the most price-conscious of the limited options, but definitely a lot more than regular ice maker 'value' options. Additionally, it's a bit noisy. I'm a WFH guy and stray noises from the other room can be a distraction. I wouldn't say it's loud, but it's noisier than the compressor on your refrigerator. Lastly, once you have your nice little ice pellets, you're going to have to figure out how to store them. You cant just put them in a tray in your freezer, they'll stick together. There are a bunch of 'hacks' online for what to do in this situation. I've taken to just doing individually pre-packed 'flat' ziplock individual serving bags. Take it out of the freezer, drop it on the counter to break up the little pellets, and boom, in the drink. All of that to say, it makes little ice pellets. That was the intended goal here. And it does it successfully without breaking the bank. It's not a perfect solution by any stretch, but for the dollar value buy... it's actually pretty great. ... show more

It’s not Sonic ice. It’s little square cubes. But they’re soft and chewy. It’s good ice! I think this is the 4th ice maker I’ve purchased. The other ones gave me the bullet ice, which wasn’t bad at all, but this makes the good ice. Finally! Very happy with this purchase. The machine is heavy. It’s quieter than the other machines. You don’t have to listen to the ice cubes dropping all the time. It makes a lot of ice in a short amount of time. Definitely recommend this one if you want to chew on ice all the time. ... show more

Our older refrigerator-freezer has no built-in ice-making capacity and I finally got tired of the hassle of filling ice trays manually (and losing valuable freezer space in the process). This little gem produces "nugget" style ice (quick-chilling, and easily chewable) in sufficient quantities to handle our two-person iced-drink-loving household. The noise level is moderate (about as loud as our microwave), and occasionally annoying, and that's about the only drawback. Some tips: use chilled, distilled water for best results and do NOT forget to run the recommended sanitizing and descaling processes. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

This machine is a great countertop ice maker! If you've ever wanted the "good ice" this is the one for you, and at a decent price! It's simple and makes ice fast! It doesn't make a huge amount, maybe enough for 2-3 servings at one time, but once it detects the amount in the hopper is less than full, it engages to make more! The only minor complaint or fault of this machine is its a bit loud! It's as loud as our dishwasher. Aside from that, we are enjoying good ice with our beverages and the kids love to just "snack" on them. They're safer on teeth since they're much less dense and smaller than cube ice. We have been wanting a nuggest (Chick-fil-A style) ice maker for a while now and kept putting it off because I couldn't decide which one to get. Finally, I just ordered this one because it has the same features as the others but was a little cheaper. We let it sit for a few hours upon unboxing it as the manual said. Once we started making ice we were thrilled. The machine is super easy to use and I feel it creates ice fairly quickly. We have a household of 6 people but only 3 of us really use the ice machine daily. It does make enough ice to keep up with us but we do have to add water every day. Definitely not enough to bag and store like some people do but we also use a lot of ice lol overally I am very pleased with the machine. The sound is no louder than our dishwasher or washer/dryer so it doesn't bother us. Bonus: it's also a lot smaller than my old bullet style ice machine so I got a little counter space back (yay) ... show more
