  • Horrible product
This ice maker worked great for a while. It was always loud but it did make nice small cubes and was efficient. Then after a little over a year (interesting how it was right after the warranty ran out) it started leaking water and became even louder then stopped working. As others have said it is poor quality, super loud, and starts leaking after a fairly short life span. For the money we spent we expected a lot more. Don’t waste your money. Look at another brand. This one is garbage. ... show more

  • Great ice, really noisy
This product makes great nugget ice cubes. They are soft and the machine does produce a nice amount of ice. The downfall is it’s noisy, really noisy. It is closer to a squeal sound. I located the squeal and it comes from the cylinder that makes the ice. As it spins the mechanism makes the noise. Unfortunately this is a sealed unit and no way to add a lubricant. Even if you could it would probably contaminate the ice. So great ice, really loud. ... show more

  • Super loud. Broke after 8 months. Not worth your money
It worked fine at first but is very very loud. Does not make ice as fast as the Opal ice maker, it cubes were OK. At 8 months it started spitting small pieces of black plastic out with the ice and died soon afterwards. It’s. Ow in the trash. Waste of money.

  • It works and it's great.
It's pretty heavy-so be aware of placement. We have a "bar area" where it will be placed in our home. Keep in mind that you may want to be near a sink due to cleaning maintenance. As with most counter top ice makers, there is no connected water source-you have to pour in about 8 cups (2 liters) for a full drawer of ice. I've let it run overnight on the kitchen counter (it's fan is noisy & output is pretty warm) and results are great. NUGGET ICE in abundance! I've package up the ice & threw it in the freezer. Use the provided ice tray if you plan to leave it in the drawer. Not recommended for overnight - ICE WILL MELT. Keep it mind: it's an ice maker-not a freeze. I do not recommend for outdoor use. Best for indoor cocktail bar setup. And the nugget ice is great!!! ... show more

  • Day 3 - started to make a really loud ticking noise randomly. Didn't do it the first 2 days.
The media could not be loaded. 09/05/22 Works as expected, other than the loud clicking noise. The noise started after day 2. This is why I gave it 2 stars. Will add notes if there's a change, but will probably return. Might just be a bad unit. How it works - Fill water basin, ice is created and fills storage bin. Ice in the bin melts into basin and the process repeats. It's not like your refrigerator, where the ice is kept cold. Pros - Fairly cheap, and creates ice pretty quick. More than enough for my ice needs. If you wanted you could get bags and store them in your freezer. Cons - Hard to get the ice from the storage bin without losing ice to your table top or floor. To get the bin completely full of ice you have to rake the ice towards the front of the unit so the censor doesn't turn off the ice production. When you open thr unit, quite a bit of water drips. No spot on the unit to place the ice scoop. ... show more

  • Loud and short life span
I was definitely disappointed with this product, especially considering the price. When we first got it we were excited and had no trouble with it. About 2 weeks after owning it, it began to make a super loud banging noise and would produce less and less ice. It finally got to the point where it was only making a super loud banging noise pretty consistently with no ice being produced at all. We had to just unplug it. I hope contacting the company will be easy and smooth. as far as product rating only, I definitely wouldnt purchase this again. Te large size is nice and when it was working it produced good quality ice, again it's just so loud. ... show more

  • OK, not great
We had previously used the GE Opal nugget machine and liked that but unless it's found on sale those units are VERY expensive. Ours eventually went belly up so we thought we would try this one. We have had it running since the beginning of the summer now and although it makes ice well enough, the ice container doesn't appear to keep the ice as cold as the ice seems to heavily clump and melt into one large block that requires some force to try to break it up. All these types of units will have ice melt in the ice reservoir/drawer, of course, but our previous unit did not have this clumping issue like this. Another thing about this unit is it can be VERY loud, even at only a couple of months old. We have it located in the kitchen so that helps, but while watching TV in the next room we still have the, "What is that noise??" moments where it is the icemaker getting loud. The cost is nice vs the name brand option and it puts out a similar amount of ice, but if you are not using a lot of ice all day you run the risk of the clumping which, depending on your tolerance level, may not be worth the savings. I have been told to find another one of the original units we had, or at least try another system. ... show more
