    • Finally toast while camping.
For years we lacked a way to make toast. This toast rack, works well. We piled on four pieces around the sides and one on top. It's design is a little flimsy and you might have to bend/ adjust the wire frame but in the end we made nice crunchy, toast. So civilized.

So this works on a camping stove but takes about 20 minutes to brown.

I love that this is light weight and easy to pack for camping. But was a little disappointed in the actual functionality. Seems like the holes should be a bit bigger or something. We used it on our RV propane stove. Your results may be better.

    • Great way to toast in an RV - no toaster required!
Bought this with my fingers crossed, to hopefully make toast on the gas burner top in our RV - and it's great! Toast with my RV breakfast - yay! VERY lightweight and works as advertised. I have found that it toasts best with the burner on high; I started out with the burner on low, as the directions suggest, the 1st time I used it and it would have taken forever that way. On high, each side of the bread/bagel gets nicely browned in 2-3 minutes. Of course you'll want to experiment a bit on your own stove. You WILL need tongs to turn the bread (for toasting on both sides) and taking it off the toasting rack, and I also use them to move the hot rack off the hot burner to cool. It cools very fast. I would not use a very crumbly type of bread though - crumbs will burn if they fall on the base. I'm giving it 5 stars, although it can be confusing to fold/unfold the first time you use it. We won't use this outdoors; I'm sure it would work but it's so light I expect a moderate breeze would blow it away. I also can't address how fast it would toast over an open fire (set on a grill rack of course). But for indoor toasting, I'm very happy with this little device! ... show more
