I didn't realize how great this stuff is until, after running out of this, I unintentionally purchased a solder wick without flux. Oof! This stuff does a great job of sucking up solder without having to apply flux to the work area. It's relatively cheap as well. I generally use the Hakko FR-301 for desoldering, but this wick came in handy plenty of times, and lasted me 3 years. ... show more

Having tried an off brand braid before and not having it work properly this is night and day. This braid works great suck solder right up and leaves the hole clean ready for new part. Very effective product. Apply heat and it just sucks.

If you are a tinkerer and do soldering/rework as a hobby, you have probably had a terrible experience with solder wick. The cheap stuff that comes with most "kits" is cheap garbage. It's either oxidized, or has crappy flux (or none at all), and is way too coarse of a braid. This stuff is the real deal. It's expensive, yes, but it works. It does exactly as it claims to do. With a properly heated iron, it sucks up solder like nothing else. 2 stars on value for money, but 5 stars overall because it's worth the price. ... show more

Nothing worse than desoldering wick that doesn’t wick, but this doesn’t have that problem. Desoldering in general has gotten harder in recent decades due to the way they’re making boards, and the solder formulation everyone’s going to. But that’s not the solder wick’s fault.
