I like the retro design of this tea maker. I've had three B&D tea machines prior but really wanted this one due to the design. My B&D pitchers always ended up cracking over time and without the pitcher, you can't really use the machine because it has to seat the filter/tea. With this one, you put the tea in the actually machine, not on top of the pitcher, which is a bonus; I think you'd be able to use a different pitcher if this one ever cracked. The product itself does seem a little bit flimsy or not as sturdy as the B&D one, but it does the job all the same. There is a removable basket on top where I put two tea bags for my iced tea. It's very easy to clean the basket too. If you're looking for a cool retro-looking tea machine, I would recommend this one. I drink iced tea everyday. I’ve used the Mr Coffee brand for years but decided to try this one. It works well and I like the multiple options for brew strength. The pitcher however has a handle that is thin and could see breaking in the future. Also a few times now when pouring tea the lid just came off and tea spilt everywhere. I hold the lid now when I pour which is an inconvenience. There are markings on the lid for slotted pour or full pour but the lid just is not secure. The pitcher is a thick plastic that seems durable except for the handle which seems like it could easily break. Does make good tea though and is aesthetically pleasing. Plugged it in and it was 'ON'. Could not turn it off, lever would not move. It's very pretty and looked nice on the counter but it was also very lightweight, cheap plastic. Not very well made.

It’s cheap, the on/off button is poorly seated. The design is not well throughout either. Inserts are off canter and a strange red substance was just on the inside lip of the water well. In the shape of a finger print. I scrubbed it all out and ran a batch of tea through it and to my surprise, it worked as it should. Hopefully it’ll last a few years but jic I got added insurance. Long as it works and functions without a problem for a few years , I’m good with it. Not great though comparatively. Repost 11/26/23 the tea maker still works fine and functions well. It’s retro look adds a funky feel to the kitchen spite being the only white appliance in the kitchen. I’m still satisfied with it. ... show more
