So far so good. I bought this tea maker to replace an old Mr. Coffee. I have attached a video, but in case it doesn't load here are a few points from my experience. 1) It is a plastic pitcher/jug and is not super thick. Not an issue for me at this point in time. Plastic technology changes and just because this is lighter than my Mr. Coffee pitcher that cracked and broke even though it was much thicker, it doesn't mean that this pitcher will not have decent longevity. Only time will tell. 2) As stated there is no OFF button, just turn on, it brews and it shuts off. If for some reason a person wants to stop brewing mid-cycle, just unplug the power cord. 3) Lid will not stay on while pouring. Not an issue for me as I place a finger over the lid while pouring and there are zero issues. 4) Cleanup is as simple as rinsing the wire mesh basket and dumping the minimal amount of water left in the reservoir. I leave the lid to the ice tea maker body standing up/open, and the pitcher upside down on a dish drainer along with the mesh basket. After an hour or so everything is dry and I reassemble. 5) I have not used the control knob for strength of brew. I just leave on the highest setting, we use around 4-5 bags of tea and the tea is good for us. The tea has good flavor and is not bitter or super strong. We just drink plain ice tea with no added sugar. 6) Regardless of stated capacity, my ice tea maker with water filled to the line and then added to the reservoir, pitcher then filled with ice cubes to the ice line produces just over 64oz of tea. I make a minimum of one pitcher (64oz) and place in one ice tea bottle. I usually make two more batches and fill a one gallon plastic jug. Depending on the household drinking habits, that will last us 4-7 days. Your mileage will vary. In conclusion, I took the time to write this review as I spent way too much time reading other reviews and bouncing back and forth trying to decide between a $300 ice maker or this one. I don't mind spending money on kitchen appliances so price was not a deciding factor for me. I liked the looks of this ice tea maker and figured I would give it a try. I will update this review should there be any issues. I have not been paid for this review nor did I receive any items, etc.

Works perfect everytime. There are people complaining about it only making 2 or 3 quarts, I make a gallon everytime in a single use. Fill the water compartment up to the top of the hose, almost all the way, use a 1 gallon size tea bag or 10 to 12 small tea bags, add sugar to your pitcher before brewing. In my gallon size pitcher, I fill it half way up with ice while tea is brewing in the pitcher the tea maker came with. When it is finished, stir real good to blend the sugar then pour over ice in the gallon pitcher and fill the rest of the way up with water. Simple! Perfect everytime 👌

When I saw this, I liked the retro look to it and the price was reasonable. It makes a good pitcher of iced tea. My only complaint on this model would be, while the body seems sturdy, the handle feels very thin and flimsy. I honestly didn't expect it to hold a full pitcher of tea, but so far so good. I only wish the tea makers hadn't stopped making the family size tea bags made for electric tea makers, because this doesn't come with add'l instructions, like tea or coffee measurements. so if you are making a full pitcher of one or the other, you have to figure out the ratio yourself. I use 5 tea bags to make a full pitcher of iced tea and the ratio seems to work to just the right strength of tea.

Started when first plugged in without even touching the start button. That means that after a power failure, when power comes back on, this tea maker might turn on even if there is no water and that could be dangerous. My worry would be whether this unit would melt or even catch fire. Only option is to leave it unplugged except when using it. Another serious problem is that it leaves quite a bit of water in the unit. So if you don't dump the water out by tipping the unit over a sink and using a towel to absorb the remaining, you are going to eventually have some very bad stuff growing in your tea maker. If you use it daily that excess water might not be a problem but if you only use it weekly or even less often, that could be detrimental to your health. I highly recommend making sure there is not water left anywhere inside the unit. Dry up all surfaces.

Used Mr. Coffee iced tea makers prior to buying this one. I really like this one better. It takes up less space on my counter and works really well. I like the basket with the filter built in, no more need for coffee filters like other brands. You can control how strong the tea is much better with this one also. The retro style is cute too. Some complain about the lid coming off when you pour and I just put a finger on it to be sure when pouring. I haven't had it long enough to know if it will crack like the Mr. Coffee maker did, but so far it seems to be holding up.

I like the retro design of this tea maker. I've had three B&D tea machines prior but really wanted this one due to the design. My B&D pitchers always ended up cracking over time and without the pitcher, you can't really use the machine because it has to seat the filter/tea. With this one, you put the tea in the actually machine, not on top of the pitcher, which is a bonus; I think you'd be able to use a different pitcher if this one ever cracked. The product itself does seem a little bit flimsy or not as sturdy as the B&D one, but it does the job all the same. There is a removable basket on top where I put two tea bags for my iced tea. It's very easy to clean the basket too. If you're looking for a cool retro-looking tea machine, I would recommend this one. I've been using it for a couple of months now and it's still going really well!

I use this to make tea every day. Fill the pitcher with as much ice as you want, add water and teabag. Pay close attention to the overflow hole in the back which keeps you from putting too.much water in. Just fill to that spot. Fast pitcher of refreshing and good tasting iced tea. I make roughly a half gallon tea at a time. Love the retro look. It is light weight and easy clean with damp rag. This is easier to use than the Mr brand. I have lost track of how many pitchers of tea I have made and still going strong.
