Absolutely perfect for a dwarf hamster. It is nice and deep, which does mean you will either need to partially bury it in bedding - or, if you have it on a platform like me, prop up a bridge so your hamster can climb up to the top. I love how it's a top entry - this keeps all the sand safely tucked inside the container, and makes cleanup much easier. The triangle shape makes pouring out sand through a sifter even easier, which helps in cleaning. Both the glass and wooden lid are thick and high quality, and so far no sand has leaked out. I love the depth - I add enough sand so my hamster can fully submerge himself if he wants to, and he spends lots of time rolling around quite happily.

My little grabby hands (aka Syrian Hamster) LOVES this corner sand/litter box. It is easy for him to get in and out of without steps as he is fully grown, however I do have a harder "just in case". It can hold a LOT of sand which is perfect as he loves to really move around and kick and roll in it sometimes while the sand stays inside where it belongs. With a mesh scoop I can easily remove clumps as he also uses it as a litter box, and it is very efficient to clean out. Well made, exactly as described triangle shaped acrylic box with a wooden lid, with a hole big enough for my Syrian hamster to comfortably go in or out of the 'box'. No sharp edges on the acrylic or wood, a good value for the money.

The media could not be loaded. I had a small sandbox for her, which fit her but was a tad bit snug on her. So I bought this for her, and it definitely holds more sand! I think I added a bit too much sand in it, that's why in the video it looks like it's too shallow for her. But with the right amount of sand, this box is big enough for a Syrian hamster. The only thing about this box that I'm not 100% satisfied with is that the lid tends to get removed easily.. I need to put something heavy on top so the lid doesn't come off. But otherwise, the box is 1) big enough for a Syrian hamster, 2) contains sand inside the box so I don't have to clean too much on the outside of the box, and 3) my hamster loves it!! Great quality, as with all Niteangel products I have, and it's easy to clean! MUST BUY FOR A HAMSTER who loves sand baths š¹ š My hamster's fur is never oily, thanks to this sandbox :)

I donāt know what it is about this particular sand bath, but my Syrian absolutely loves it! He has always preferred to use his sand bath as a litter box, which makes me very happy. But the round dishes I had tried before he would simply use and leave. With this one, he actually enjoys hanging out inside, or sometimes on the platform. When I put him in a large bin to clean his enclosure, it becomes his safe place. He gets very stressed in the bin, (even with a ton of bedding with his scent). But if he has his beloved sand bath, all is good. Heāll just fall asleep in there. I donāt know how they came up with the design, but itās apparently just what hamsters love. Syrians do seem to prefer peeing in corners, so Iāll never have a round one again. And the cover/platform obviously makes him feel very safe. Itās quite large and very sturdy. I would absolutely buy it again.

This review is for the fan-shaped (no lid) "sand bath". I think those are poorly marked and should be marked as in-house corner toilet instead. They are made to fit inside the large Niteangel multi-chamber hides, and be used as toilet. In nature, hamster naturally use one of their burrow's "room" as toilets. So offering them the possibility to do the same in captivity is great for them, and for you. Give them a different sand than the one you are giving them in their actual sand bath (which should be much bigger and elsewhere in the enclosure), as to help them differentiate the purpose. It took only a few week for my hamster to use exclusively her toilet to pee instead of her sand bath. I use Niteangel Toilet Sand (purple label) for her toilet (which absorb urine smell so well - and my hamster doesn't seem to be eating it) and the Desert Sand in her sand bath. I mix the toilet sand once a week and replace once a month. Less smell, less cleaning and less disturbance for my hamster. Beware that this toilet once filled with sand will be heavy. You'll have to support it with some sort of prop underneath so your hamster doesn't get crushed if she digs underneath.

I like it but itās a little too tall for my Chinese Dwarf Hamster. Therefore , I have to put A LOT more sand. She initially struggled to climb out lol but second time around it was easier for her. It is a great product nonetheless.
