I've been using a "corded" electronic thermometer for making roasts for years. I like the idea of a cordless thermometer, so I got this one. The setup was simple and quick. I'm not sure why they require that we create an account, but that she's par for the course these days. The temperature reading is within a couple degrees of my old thermetwe. I don't know if either of the devices are precise (who ever checks?), but the readings are close enough for my use. The only issue that I've had is the thermometer losing contact with the charger - which serves as a base to communicate with your phone - on occasion. I just move the base around a little and it comes back. Washing is simple as I just wash wat contacts the meat and wipe down the body. So far, so good. This is a nice add to my kitchen arsenal.

We have bought a number of Ninja products (blender, air fryer, etc) and they have all worked really well. Based on that experience we order this wireless meat thermometer and have not been disappointed. I used it for the first time the other day to smoke a couple of shoulders. Couldn't be happier with the results. The photos shown in the listing are accurate. The Good: 1. Product arrived quickly 2. Nice charging case that works on a AAA battery rather than a rechargeable. For items like this I prefer a battery to having to plug it into a USB charger. 3. The required App is very easy to doswnload 4. The set up process is painless. If you don't have a Ninja account you have to set one up. Because we have other Ninja kitchen appliances we already had an account 5. The broadcast range of the thermometer is good enough for my use. My smoker is in my back yard. I walked out to the street (about 90 feet) and was still able to get a good signal. The claimed range is 165 feet and but did not go out that far. 6. The temperature measurement agreed with my calibrated wired thermometer within 1 degree. I calibrated the wired one in ice water (32F) and boiling water (210F at my elevation) The Not So Good - absolutely nothing that I cold find. I highly recommend this wireless meat thermometer!

I've tried this out with several proteins and like the results. The probe is well made and the compact case makes it easy to keep close to the oven or grill. I would highly recommend reading the instructions as there are some items can throw you such where to place the probe and aluminum foil. And no, it doesn't work in a microwave. It also mentions not to use with proteins less than 1" but it worked fine on some chicken tenders. I'm not as thrilled with the phone app. I was disappointed I had to first create an account with Ninja before using the app. And on my Android phone, I didn't see a way to get an audible alert. Without an audio function you have to monitor the app more often.

I used this on my Traeger and it worked great! I like that the case is magnetic so it is easy to store on a fridge or on the side of a grill. When you open the package you need to make sure to put the battery in the charging case and let the probe sit in it for 30 minutes before you try connecting it through the app. The app will take into account the ambient temperature and the setpoint and give you an estimated time to reach the setpoint. Overall it is very user friendly!

If Ninja doesn't invent a product, they sure make existing products much better. I have thrown away a couple of wired thermometers because of the wires getting kinked and broken. I have a wireless one that was pretty good, but still kind of spotty in connection. This Ninja ProChef keeps connectivity even when I'm on the opposite side of the yard. It works in the oven, the BBQ, and on the Blackstone. This should be the last wireless meat thermometer I ever need (unless Ninja comes out with an even better one).

My husband really likes using this while barbecuing. It could definitely do without the app which, of course, isn't flawless. I have quite a few appliances from this particular brand and I love them. For this particular one, I'm not sure if it's a necessity. It's definitely one I wouldn't miss if I didn't have it, but one my husband likes using and would probably miss. I can say for sure that this would be a great gift for those that barbecue often.
