Some days I don’t have time to get a run in and this has been great for getting a little exercise while I work. It didn’t take too long to figure out how to type and step at the same time! I like that there’s nothing fussy on this unit that can break easily. The read out is a simple battery operated digital display. Very old skool. The one complaint I have about this is that there’s really only one level of tension. You have to turn the knob underneath as far as it will go in order to make the pedals go back and forth as they should so therefore it’s always on the most tension which is honestly not quite enough but then you also can’t make it less tension if you wanted to do a much faster step to get your heart rate up more. I attached the bands and have used them a couple times but honestly prefer just using 5-8 lb free weights as I feel that gives me many more options for upper body movements than the bands do. For the price though it works great and feels like it’s build solidly enough to last quite a while even with regular use. For reference I am a 145 lb woman using it for 3-5 hours per week. ... show more

It works the knees and thighs heavily. Definitely gets your heart pumping too. Wishing it targeted the gluts more, so I lean over a table while stepping on the machine to get better distribute the burn up through my butt/hips, and take some pressure off the knees. It's super convenient, easy, and compact! Very quick to raise the heart rate at higher resistence. I LOVE this stair stepper! It’s small, easy to move around the house, light weight, and so easy to use. I wasn’t sure if it would actually give me a good work, but after less than 10 minutes on medium resistance, I could feel the burn and broke a sweat! It seriously gives you a great lower body workout and if you incorporate the arm bands, it gives you an arm workout too! I was super sore the days after I used it b/c it was working on muscles I haven’t worked out in forever. I HIGHLY recommend this. I like this as I can move it around the house as needed. It works and makes my muscles sore just after 300 reps. My son likes to use it too. It is pretty quiet except for the click clack noise it makes when your heel comes down but it's not loud or a nuisance. Good tool for staying in motion on a rainy day. I find it difficult to use at my standing desk though as it throws my arms and eyes out of alignment with the current placement of my keyboard and screen as I cannot adjust those any further. ... show more
