Works great. Well made and best price anywhere. You ABSOLUTELY NEED to make a wide base to use this stand. I have attached a pic. The stand is heavy duty, but the weight of a shock would tip it over and especially when trying to loosen the cap nut on a coilover, it would tip over. Having a base would also allow you to stand safely behind the press while working.

It seems too good to be true for the price, but this works well enough for a hobby mechanic. The instructions are hard to read and essentially useless. But if you look at the pictures and watch YouTube videos you will figure it out easily.

The square tubing bent with the first try. I had to use C-clamps to help compress. Barley good enough to get me through one job. I would not recommend buying this compressor.

Worked very well once I figured out the correct spring placement within the compressor. The two arms for lifting and lowering the jack are very flimsy so gentle use of these two components are needed, I bent the longer bar for lifting the jack when I used my foot, so I ended up using my hands, which worked fine and did not have any issues. My second strut only took about 5 minutes to swap the springs.

I bought this with the intent of using it often, but like most specialty tools, they just sit there until you need to use them. Once I got past that waiting part, my brother was wanting me to completely replace his front strut assemblies on his 2016 Buick LaCrosse (with the active suspension kit). Well those are not easy kits to find. Best guess is dealership part only as a full replacement and boy were they not cheap. So we looked at just replacing the strut and Amazon actually had that part. So it was our first test on this compressor. Unfortunately I don't have pictures while I did this. However, this device does suggest bolting it down to the floor and I quickly realized why they suggest this (trying to compress a spring with this unit's short legs was fun and needless to say somewhat dangerous of a task). Luckily we cam out unscathed and this was able to compress the spring without issue. I predict I'm going to find many uses of this machine and will probably build a portable 4x4 lumber base to offer more stability all while keeping this unit portable as I don't have workspace near big enough to be bolting things to the floor.

AC delco small struts cannot be compressed with the cheap "widow makers" because the top hat and the bottom plate of the struts get in the way of long screw bolt. Those are also really unsafe. This one worked well and the chain provided an extra degree of safety. Vevor compression tool works for large SUVs as well because it comes with larger coil plates. Highly recommend it.

What took thirty minutes with a pair of outside soring compressors now takes Five. This is by far the easiest spring compressor for automotive struts that I have used in the last forty or so years. Vevor has done a magnificent job of sizing, and selecting the proper weight of the Steel materials used in the Strut Press. The Base Plate works as intended. I have had no issues with the Vevor Strut Press whatsoever. I used an old axle bolt to hold the second set of hands to the machine Pictured. (If you haven't used a Strut Press, keep the Press between you & the Strut at all times. Secure the supplied safety chain to the Strut Spring before compressing to prevent a spring flyaway should it dislodge accidentally). Definitely a Five Star Product in my book.
