This was a tough purchase for me at first because I already own a Sky Rover X1, which is basically a Mini 4 Pro clone, and I’m very happy with it. But the Mini 5 Pro is on a different level. DJI builds a more polished product. The camera is better, the sensors are better, the obstacle avoidance is better, and the whole system just feels more refined. I’ve only flown it a few times, thanks to the Pacific Northwest weather, but every flight has been smooth and impressive. It does everything my X1 can do, but with better image quality and more capability overall. The Fly More Combo is absolutely worth it. The three batteries last a long time. While DJI advertises 54 minutes, I was comfortably getting around 45 to maybe 50 minutes. One thing to keep in mind: this drone sits right at the 250-gram limit. If you add anything to it, you’ll go over. Because of that, I picked up a Remote ID module so I stay compliant. It’s not a downside to the drone itself, just something worth noting for anyone who plans to add accessories. The RC-2 controller is another highlight. You don’t have to hook up your phone or a tablet, and the built-in display is excellent. It makes setup faster and cleaner. The controller is a little heavy, though, so I recommend getting a lanyard. On longer flights, you can really feel it in your arms. Overall, this combo is outstanding, and I’m glad I got it when I did. Pros: Excellent build quality and very polished Noticeably better camera quality Great obstacle avoidance and lighting Smooth, stable flying even in mixed conditions Fly More Combo gives you three long-lasting batteries. RC-2 controller has a bright, built-in screen so no phone is needed The lanyard option helps with controller weight. You cant do much better than DJI and after four previous mini drones, I really wanted this one with 360 obstacle avoidance. The extended battery life with the combo plus model is a game changer and the fact they also supply ND filters is something you really cant do without in bright sunlight. The photos are stunning, and the unit is one of the best DJI makes at an affordable price and only 250grams...for those who use it for recreation. This is my first camera drone, and first DJI product. After building and flying FPV drones for several years I can't believe how easy the mini 5 is to fly. It's basically a camera that flys itself, which is just the opposite of FPV. Very high quality hardware and software. The controller runs Android and comes with a flight simulator that is really helpful. Simulators are essential for learning FPV so I really liked having one to become familiar with camera drones. The seller provided great service. The unit was brand new, exactly as described, shrink wrapped, and arrived about a week earlier than the original delivery date. No problems activating with DJI, but note that DJI Care is unavailable for USA customers, so consider buying the insurance. ... show more

What a great drone for an amazing price! Combo Plus - the Plus means it comes with the extended life batteries, well worth the extra $ in the Combo Plus kit. Drone is amazing, will probably always be learning something new this little beast can do, including way point missions and cruise control... smoother video, here I come! The 1" sensor is also incredible for better quality images and low light imagery. Availability was kinda tough, logistics for DJI imports requires some patience. But, the 4-week timeline turned into less than 2 weeks and saved me over $100 (that I put into some nice K&H ND filters and a Firehouse 5 strobe). Super happy to get this Mini 5 Pro in the sky! ... show more

Took time given import delays. The seller was patient and responded to communication through the process. I operate enterprise drones as part of my duties and wanted to replace an older personal airframe. The specific aircraft I received was able to register with the FAA. The M5P is fantastic and handles well in flight. Easy to fly as is the norm with DJI. A little touchy at times compared to larger enterprise drones. Video and photo quality is superb and the built-in enhanced tracking/follow features are great. You can count and check cows with it. I purchased the fly more plus bundle, which does activate RID for those of you who fly under Part 107. Weight variance does exist in this model, even with the standard battery which will require registration if over 250g. Flight time, everyone wants the full advertised time but that is never realistic unless you’re flying indoors with no negative effects to the drone like low temps. I’ve got about 35 minutes on a single battery, but this is also playing it conservatively on energy levels. Size of your hand folded up and the cases sold for this model are great. I highly recommend getting a hard case in lieu of the soft bag DJI ships with this. All packed up, it can go anywhere. Landing gear: Definitely have a landing pad or an elevated gear attachment as it sits low on the deck. Any height of grass will get into the props and I’d be weary landing on gravel.
