  • Upgrade from Mavic 3 Classic
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
I've had the Phantom 4 Pro, Mavic Pro, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 3 Classic, and now the Mini 5 Pro (And I flew Walkera drones before DJI was a thing). I sold the 3 classic earlier this year and have been on the fence for a while regarding the mini 5 pro. The biggest deterrent for me was its wind performance as I like to fly in pre/post-stormy weather occasionally. So knowing this drone wouldn't hold hold up to larger drones in that aspect, the rest looked promising. First impressions? Pretty blown away. I got the fly more plus cimbo. The video feed to the controller is noticeably better than the Mavic 3 classic or any predecessor. So smooth. The transmission is stronger too. I can fly lower farther, also with noticeably less interference. The speed isnt as fast in sport mode ad me Mavic classic drones but the mini 5 pro is no slouch. For all practical purposes it does the job. It does draw more bird attention than the slightly larger drones which is worth mentioning. I can still outrun them through! The mini 5 pro powers up when you open the legs and powers off when you close them. I thought that was a nice touch. It has the option to override that if you don't want it to power itself up and down on its own. Saves time though and keeps it simple. The vertical shooting and zoom features will get used a lot for sure. The zoom is more impressive than I was expecting, and while not perfect, is smooth and more than useful. I saw a lot of reviews saying this drone is whisper quiet. I don't believe that to be the case. It's maybe slightly quieter than the Mavic series. If you bust out the dB meter you'll probably see a difference but as far as my ears, I can still hear this drone a fair way away. That's no deal breaker but worth noting. It's very light in your hand and hand launching/landing is a breeze. The plus batteries get you close to an hour of flight time which is amazing. I won't need to winder if I need to bring a charger with me. Maybe for the controller if anything. There is no cover for the micro sd card slot, which is nice when loading/offloading your card, but also makes me hesitant to fly it in fog/clouds. If you install the DJI fly app on your phone you can transfer files wirelessly for social media and things like that. If I had to find a negative about this mini 5 pro? Probably the wind performance, but there has to be a sacrifice somewhere. The amount of time thats an issue for me compared to the ease of transport, deployment, extended battery life, makes the trade off worth it for me. Watch out for big birds and wind. Other than that it's perfect. DJI needs to be careful with the mini 6 pro or they'll for sure cannabalaize their mavic line. Not complaining. TLDR: If I had a Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 3 Classic, or Mini 5 Pro offered to me for $1k each I'd take the Mini 5 Pro. Update: Holds up amazing in wind. If you are close to the ground or your subject in strong minded the drone will bounce around a lot more than the mavic line, but if you are 30 feet or more its still solid. The range destroys the mavic 3 classic and predecessors. The battery life is phenomenal. This is the first drone I have ever purchased that hasn't had a shortcoming of some sort. Great job DJI. ... show more

  • Good Drone
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
A pretty pricey drone but very good drone that makes up for it. The images turn out beautiful after editing. The extra registering for the extra weight when using the extended flight batteries is definitely worth it, as this kit provides enough battery to not worry about battery anymore. I have not rs. into problems of this thing getting affected by winds a lot, so i think the wind resistance for normal use is fine. The med-tele ability is good for people who don’t need to zoom in a lot but just maybe sometimes get a closer view of the subject. The drones pretty portable as you can just stuff all the stuff into the shoulder bag and just go. Some downsides, are that it doesn’t have adjustable aperture and putting on ND filters is a pain. And in special terrain the signal can be lost almost immediately, when i was in the mountains. The screen of the RC-2 is very good, and using it is similar as using a phone but without the hassle of attaching a phone on it. Worth buying it for people who are into drone imaging but not that beginner since a crash can cost 1.2K. ... show more

  • Unparalleled drone for this price range.
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
Upgraded from my DJI Mini SE that I bought all the way back in 2022, and this thing is a BEAST. There is so much technology crammed into this tiny 249g drone. It easily shoots at 4k 60fps and it looks fantastic. Flys fast. Not very good for night photography, but drones at this price range aren't really made for night flying anyways because of the camera-based obstacle avoidance. I got the pro-batteries, so I easily get 45-50 minutes of flight time from one charge. Also the range is incredible, I've flown it over a mile away and its still streaming the 1080p camera feed. Unparalleled value at this price range. ... show more

  • Defective unit + frustrating return experience ended up buying locally possibly re-sealed drone
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
I purchased the DJI Mini 5 Pro from Amazon and the delivery itself was smooth with no issues. However, things started to go wrong as soon as I opened the box. The packaging looked like it had been resealed, I didn’t see the usual green tab, which made me question whether the unit was truly new. When I tried charging the batteries, the charging hub behaved oddly. One battery just sat there blinking and wouldn’t charge properly. I had to switch slots multiple times before I finally got all of them to charge. The controller, at least, charged without any issues. Next came the firmware updates, and that’s where things completely fell apart. The controller took an unusually long time to download the update. When I started updating the drone, it failed at 70% with an error saying the battery was below 20% — even though the battery showed a single LED and, after reinserting it, turned out to be fully charged. I tried again with a different battery, and it failed at 93%. Same issue with the third battery. I then connected the controller to DJI Assistant 2 and managed to update the controller successfully. But when updating the drone through the software, it repeatedly failed again around 92–93%. I also received a “firmware mismatch” error. I tried multiple cables, rebooted my PC, and repeated the process several times with no success. At that point, I gave up and initiated a return. What made the situation worse was that Amazon did not offer a replacement option during the return process, something they used to do. Instead, I had to place a completely new order and spend another $1,230 upfront while waiting for the refund. The replacement order created even more issues. Delivery was pushed to two days, and a signature was required, which didn’t work with my schedule. I ended up canceling that order and buying the same drone locally instead. Within 20 minutes, it was ready for pickup, and that unit worked perfectly. Firmware updated on the first try, and it flew without any problems. In total, I had to temporarily spend over $2,400 just to end up with a working product. That’s not acceptable. Amazon should have offered a direct replacement without requiring me to front that kind of money again. I returned the defective drone within 14 hours of receiving it. Final verdict: The drone itself is great when it works, but this unit was likely defective (or possibly previously opened/returned), and the return/replacement process through Amazon was disappointing. Giving 1 star — half for the defective product, and half for how the situation was handled. ... show more

  • Should I Buy The Fly More Combo?
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
Excellent drone and it arrived working as it should. Only downside is for U.S customers like me, the DJI Care refresh (the coverage insurance you could buy directly from DJI) isn’t available in our region; due to ongoing geopolitical issues with DJI’s parent company. However, this is the best drone for quality and size. Highly recommend if you are a person who likes to travel and wants to document your trips in a fuller way. Use the DJI simulator and practice flying you need a few hours of practice before becoming confident. Use YouTube as your learning space to watch videos explaining the drone and its settings. Use the quick shots features they are amazing for beginners to get beautiful drone footage. The controls are very easy to follow. Battery life is around its quoted time of 45minutes to 51 minutes. It’s a high quality portable drone that can be wrapped up and fit in your small backpack. Get the combo plus fly more bundle it’s worth the extra money. ... show more

  • Superbly capable drone for its diminutive size, coming from a first time drone operator.
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
I am a first time drone user and my interest is primarily photography and videography. I have eyed the DJI Mini series for a couple of years as a first foray into Ariel photography and videography. The upgrades that DJI instituted in the latest version including comprehensive obstacle avoidance and the 1” sensor made me commit to buying one. As seen from the posted photograph, this is a small drone. Before it was delivered I used the flight simulator that DJI has in its store app on the iPad. This helped me gain experience before I even received the drone. I chose the fly more combo plus with the bigger batteries because with the regular batteries the drone is specified to weigh 249.9 g, which is under the limit to register it. But considering that there is just 0.1g under regulation, tiny variations in production would put it over the top anyway. The drone with the larger batteries weigh 294g. I registered it with the FAA and took the TRUST test too. The FAA had this model in their registration process even though DJI can’t sell it directly in the US. The activation process was an issue primarily because DJI WIFI will not work with secure home networks. So, instead of making my home network insecure by opening it up, I chose to activate it through my cell phone, That is the only issue I have with DJI drones. I wish they would fix it. DJI on the other hand has comprehensive information on how to use this drone via it DJI store app. The RC2 remote with its built in screen and fly more app is superb. It is really well engineered with superb software that lets you know about flying restrictions. It also can search areas that you want to go to and the regulations there. There’s also reviews by other drone flyers on that location. My first flight was really easy because of time spent on the simulator. I did an auto takeoff from the DJI bag and then manually landed primarily because the drone had some issues auto landing on the small DJI bag that came with the drone. This was entirely my fault because I forgot to get the landing pad I purchased separately. The photographs and videos of the pacific coast were superb and exceeded my expectations. This drone comes highly recommended, even though at this moment it’s not covered by DJI’s warranty due to ongoing issues with selling directly here. The only negative is connecting via WiFi is a big issue. I have however been able to use my iPhones cellular connection to activate and upgrade the firmware. However I have not been able to download maps by cellular as yet. Still comes highly recommended for both the capabilities of the drone and DJI’s comprehensive support system for its users. ... show more

  • Great battery life
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
The battery life is okay. It's really easy for beginners to use, and it's not super light either. It can fly really steadily even in strong winds. The sensor is also very sensitive - it can stop quickly when there are objects nearby, so it's super safe. I really like it.

  • Great drone very happy overall, but issue with the batteries.
Style: DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI ...
Overall good, but I'm dealing with a real headache. The Drone is great it's legit DJI mini 5 pro and works great as does the controller and one battery shipped in drone. Unfortunately the two batteries shipped in the charging dock will not charge. They are bricked and I have spent countless hours already trying to wake them and get them to charge. Including working with DJI and seller, and Amazon and Asurion. It would be great if Seller could just exchange the two batteries. Otherwise though great!!! Or I'd give it 5 stars for sure. Amazon is willing to give me some credit but the credit they offer can't be used to purchase the batteries because it's for Amazon sold only items, so that kinda sucks.... I think it's something with them having sat on the shelf for so long due to the DJI USA ban. Anyway. Hoping it gets resolved soon. Thankfully the battery time is great on the plus batteries so having just one isn't a total bummer right now. Please resolve this issue for me seller thank you!!!! ... show more
