On a whim, I had ordered some EcoColors "non-toxic natural semi-permanent hair coloring". It was simply AWFUL! Not only did it smell horrendous, like sticking one's nose into a bottle of pure ammonia, but it bleached out my naturally dark brown hair, leaving it a light brown. The color wasn't even, either. The ONLY thing I can say that is positive about it, is that my hair was smooth and shiny, that's it. THEN, I ordered this - the Naturcolor 4N Burdock hair color. Love it! Not only did it seem to restore the natural color of my hair, BUT, it did it with only using 1/2 of the recommended amount and it did it in 25 minutes! The product mixes very easily, smells lovely - no ammonia smell or perfumey scent, and it did an incredible job! My hair is smooth, shiny, dark brown with highlights, all of the few grey hairs I had were covered completely and I could not be happier! Please, if you want to have a reliable, non-toxic hair coloring experience, try Naturcolor. This company evidently "did their homework", and I will certainly use their products again.     • Covers greys but takes a day or two

I've been looking for more natural hair dye and this one seemed to check the boxes. I am somewhat suspicious of other more commercial brands who claim to have less chemicals yet are almost too cheap. This one is very easy to mix and has a nice thick texture that makes it easy to apply directly from the applicator bottle. I combed it through and left it on for an hour. The amount of color that came out during rinsing wasn't overwhelming, which I liked, and the accompanying shampoo and condition left my hair feeling soft and clean. Definitely did not feel like they had been exposed to any harsh chemicals. After drying, I was a bit disappointed that my grays just appeared to be slightly darker without full coverage. I was about to write off this trial when I noticed the next day that the grays had further darkened and now those hairs blend in well with the rest of the strands on my head. This after a second wash. 5 days later and the color seems to hold so I'm happy! Will definitely give this one another try in 6 weeks to see if the experience is consistent with this one. ... show more

I've been dying my own hair for over 10 years and I've experimented with many different brands and colors. I wanted to try a more "natural" option since I'd gotten tired of the harsh chemicals. This dye is really gentle and doesn't have the harsh smell that many dyes have. I used shade 4N over my previously bleached and colored magenta hair and got a really nice dark mahogany color. This dye also left my damaged hair in better condition. It's important to consider what color and condition your hair currently is when selecting a color as it will effect the results. I will say that the immediate result will be darker than expected. The after picture was taken after 3 shampoos, and I feels it's done washing out. If you have thick or long hair I would get more than one box. I have very thick shoulder length hair and it took 3 boxes. Overall, I'm very happy with the result and will be buying this dye again in the future! ... show more

This is my first time trying this brand. It took 2 full bottles to cover my hair. I only had to apply it once, waited the 45 minutes, and every single white hair is gone. I'm amazed. Normally, with other brands I have to re apply on the white hair. My hair comes in white right at the temples, it shows when I pull my hair back. Complete coverage the first time around. I used the 4N burdock. It is the perfect match. No one even noticed that I dyed my hair. I was previously using a brand that washes out (semi permanent). Decided to try permanent hair dye, hoping I can go longer than 6 weeks. I'm going to keep this stocked in the house. Additionally, FYI this stuff rinsed out completely. The water was clear. Upon washing my hair this morning, it is still clear. With my other brand, it did not rinse clean the first time, I had dye color coming out for a few days. it did not cover my grey but only made it lighter (like highlights) which could've been fine (if not disappointing since I wanted it all in one color) if it weren't for the fact that it didn't even last a week, grey was showing by day 4 and by day 5 it was all out. I don't have a lot of grey (less than 25%) and this still couldn't cover it. Too bad since it was easy to apply, but definitely not worth the money if i'm gonna have to reapply every week. My hair is medium thick, and reaches halfway down my back. I haven’t dyed my own hair since my college days! I have about 20% grey hair now, and some spots it’s more concentrated grey than others. I decided to try this brand bc I want to avoid as much chemicals as I can, plus professionally dyed hair is SO expensive! I love that this dye does not have a strong overwhelming odor!! It was easy to apply, and I was worried 1 box wasn’t going to be enough. Turned out to be plenty! The color is even and after 2 weeks it still looks vibrant and not dull. My greys did get covered, but in the areas where the grey is more concentrated you can still kind of see that that spot is somewhat grey... but definitely a huge improvement. It doesn’t bother me tho, bc as I said the color has not washed out. If you have very thick, longish hair you prob will need 2 boxes. ... show more
