What can you say about fire starters other than they work or they don't. These work. I use them to start my pizza oven. They do give off a plastic kind of smell though, which isn't great for the pizza oven.

I am notorious for taking a very long time to get a fire going. I think it's because I normally don't have enough kindling and small branches to keep the heat and flames alive long enough to let the logs catch fire to a sustainable level. This time I actually found some really dry branches and I used these fire starters. They burned for a good long while, allowing the fire to spread to all the kindling and the logs, which burned really well and even glowed red for a while after I put the fire out. These things are now indispensable as far as I'm concerned when it comes to campfires, and I will gladly pay money to order more when I've run out. ... show more

Once lit, they go out after a few minutes. Packaging states 8-10 minutes.

My review is unbiased and based solely on my personal observation and use. We’ve used this brand of fire starter before when camping, and happy to be able to get more. Each starter is on the small side, but the amount of wax in each does the job. There’s no need to use several to get an adequate start on a campfire. We’ve also found that other brands of starters that are made with natural materials often shed significantly and quite a few are needed to start a fire. Not this brand.
