I used to use newspaper under my charcoal chimney, however, I recently switched to using other lighters to get the charcoal going since the newspaper has been hit or miss at times. The OOFT firelighters are fast igniting and get the charcoal going fast. You do need to be careful with them as they can come undone from their bundle, but for me it's worth it. Although these do seem a little on the expensive side, I have cut them in half with a really sharp knife and they still worked incredibly well. When I run out, I will definitely be ordering more as these are the best lighters I have used to date.

I acquired these with the specific intent of utilizing them to light the lump charcoal in an outdoor pizza oven. Just add a couple to the middle of the lump charcoal stack in the fire tray and light. I have come to believe I need to allow a few more minues for the charcoal to fully light, when compared to liquid starters, but they do a good job without the smell and danger. These have also found a place in the regular BBQ pit so goodbye to licquid starters. Overall very happy with the Natural Firelighters!

These are great fire starters if you have at least one piece of kindling. I gave them four stars because I still needed that one piece of kindling. I tried these because I have no source to get more kindling. My firewood is seasoned and starts easily but I have to use too many of them with no kindling. Not very cost efficient . If only these burned maybe one minute longer…..

I have only gotten to use 1 so far but it did exactly what it claimed and help start a fire easily. Compared to some others I have these seem alot more dense where the other were hollow in the center so these seem to burn longer. These do seem to be a bit more expensive per piece that others I have gotten but overall they are still inexpensive. And no noticeable smell from them so it does seem natural and not just full of lighter fluid or anything else.

I got these to use in our wood burning stove. They are very easy to light, do not put off any kind of bad smell and did help with starting the fire. Burn very well but also slow enough to allow the wood around it to catch fire as well. Have used other starters in the past that either smelled really bad with chemicals or burn so fast that there was no chance for the wood to catch. I think the price was a bit high but would order them again.

I use these type of fire starters a lot when I BBQ and we refer to them as "tumble weeds". I ordered these to give them a try and while they did their jobs of lighting my charcoal, I also noticed they fell apart very easily out of the box. The wood is dry, and the wax is on there, my box feels as if the weeds were put together very loosely.

I am notorious for taking a very long time to get a fire going. I think it's because I normally don't have enough kindling and small branches to keep the heat and flames alive long enough to let the logs catch fire to a sustainable level. This time I actually found some really dry branches and I used these fire starters. They burned for a good long while, allowing the fire to spread to all the kindling and the logs, which burned really well and even glowed red for a while after I put the fire out. These things are now indispensable as far as I'm concerned when it comes to campfires, and I will gladly pay money to order more when I've run out.

I've always been lazy when strategizing campfires, and often start with less than ideal moisture content wood. These coir mat type rolls burn very well, and last longer than similar type devices that I've used in the past. I knocked off a star for quality of packaging. The box was falling apart when it arrived so I transferred all of the fire starter rolls to a bag. I would have preferred the manufacturer to have used a bag instead of a box for easier storage, but I'm guessing their motivation to use a box was that the box itself could be used for starting a fire, so therefore no wasted material, which I appreciate
