I haven't used these, this is part of my hurricane preparedness kit. Last hurricane my power when out for a week and I wasn't prepared at all. This will come in handy to heat up water for coffee and for soup. These a cheaper on Amazon than walmart I may get two more.

I did not mean to order this. I was thinking I was ordering alcohol pellets for my stove. This was a really pleasant surprise. A ferry rod will lite ghus in a fidnpou and it burns for hours. It will dry out thought docked wood to get a good sized fire going. Without food, it puts out enough heat to warm frozen hands or cook several meals. I love this, because I wanted to go camping but couldn't afford to buy EVERYTHING so instead of paying 100 dollars for a camp stove I bought this and one of the little mini stoves that go with it but u purchase separately. Also, u could use this in the bottom of a charcoal BBQ when there is a burn ban. If u don't have a camp stove... I wouldn't cook right on the grill above it. But use a pan, which will make it more like an in home gas stove. Also, the fumes are non toxic, so it's safe indoors, which I'd what I ended up having to use, to heat my bedroom, when our power went out for 8 days due to the ice and snow storm. ... show more

Using this for a go bag in case of emergency with earthquake or fire use to survive for 2 weeks, 3 weeks depending on how bad things are possibly 4 weeks. Should always be ready in case.

The two cans arrived on time but the carboard/paper container storing them was a bit damp. Initially I thought is was because of water moisture since it was a bit snowy here, but as I had it inside a heated house for a week the cardboard did not dry out. Then I noticed that at least one can was wicking fluid out of the cap and onto the tip of the can for there was a small piece of material which was coming out of the sealed portion of the can and over the top of the lid which the cap screwed on to. This allowed the fluid to wick through the top of the can and down the treaded can cap and on to the paper container. A bit dangerous if this fluid got ignited. Check Camp Heat paper container if it looks wet and does not seem to dry this could be the problem. ... show more
