This worked exactly as needed for our camping trip. We used them under a folding stove top. To make the flame larger, simply pull the wick out a little more (not too much, or you'll get a HUGE flame!) and widen it a bit, using a stick or fork or something (not your fingers, as there's flamable oil on it). ... show more

Took it on 2 separate solo trips and I was able to have a hot meal both times. It is definitely slower than some other options (hence 4 stars), but effective still. No complaints. Will buy again.

I did not mean to order this. I was thinking I was ordering alcohol pellets for my stove. This was a really pleasant surprise. A ferry rod will lite ghus in a fidnpou and it burns for hours. It will dry out thought docked wood to get a good sized fire going. Without food, it puts out enough heat to warm frozen hands or cook several meals.
