  • Absolutely Love My Narwal – A Smart Investment for Any Home! Worth Every Penny
Color: White
I couldn’t be happier with my Narwal! From the moment I unboxed it, setup was quick and effortless. Whether I’m using it manually or through the intuitive app, the experience is seamless. One of the best features is its ability to vacuum and mop simultaneously or separately based on your needs. While the dual mode takes a bit longer, the cleaning results are impressive and thorough every time. The robot itself is sleek, modern, and sturdy — it looks great in any home. I especially love the remote control functionality, allowing me to operate it from any room without supervision. Its smart mapping system is excellent, adapting quickly to your space, navigating tight spots with ease, and becoming more efficient with each clean. If I had to mention one minor inconvenience, it would be refilling the clean water tank and emptying the dirty one, but honestly, it’s a small trade-off for the cleanliness and convenience it brings. After researching several options, I’m so glad I chose the Narwal. It’s a reliable, high-performing cleaning companion — definitely worth the investment. If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend giving this gem a try! ... show more

  • 6 months of ownership and zero regrets
Color: White
I have owned a few robotic vacuums and a robotic mop over the years, so wanting to spend even more money on yet another device left me feeling more than skeptical. I have owned the Narwal for 6 months now, using it weekly to vacuum and mop multiple areas of my house, including both wood and tile floors, and I have no regrets on this purchase. To be able to push a button and this device literally does all the work of vacuuming and mopping the floors is amazing. It gets under furniture, in corners, and detects items lying on the floor and maneuvers around them so they don't become "dinner" for the Narwal. As a bonus, it also dusts the baseboards as it goes along with a soft attachment on the side. The only effort I need to do is add water and empty dirty water for the mop and occasionally replace the waste bag. The mop heads are self-cleaning and they actually clean really well. They are white cloth and the Narwal auto-detects when it is time to go back to the station for a cleaning. I didn't think it would actually keep the mop heads white, but after 6 months, they are as white as the day I first used them. It also auto dries the mop heads when it is done mopping so no mold or mildew after. Previous robotic vacuums I owned would get stuck and I had to hunt them down under furniture because there was no way to know where it got stuck unless you happened to see it or hear an alert. The Narwal, on the unusual occasion it does get stuck somewhere (which doesn't happen often), it tells you right on the app exactly where it is located, so no hunting. What a concept! The best part, it is quiet. When I read other reviews saying the Narwal was quiet, I thought, "No way". I had to pause every other vacuum I ever owned to talk on the phone or watch TV. Not the Narwal. It can vacuum and mop while I sleep and it doesn't disturb me at all. I have cats who hated my previous vacuums, beating on it and running from it because the device was so loud and the cats were "chased" by it. With the Narwal, the cats actually walk right up to it and aren't scared of it because of how quiet and predictable it is. When the Narwal detects a cat, it stops. When you first set up your Narwal on the app, it asks if you have any pets, so it can detect pets in your home during task completion. Predictability in performance is so important. Other vacuums drive around haphazardly, and you hope it happens to get every area of your home. They also need need to return to the base to charge, but it doesn't exactly know where the base is, so it drives around aimlessly until it gets within range and then tries to dock, but gets it wrong over and over and has to keep trying. Sound familiar? Yeah, not the Narwal. The Narwal always knows where the base is. When it needs to go back to the base it goes straight there, drives in to the base the first time like precision. You never realize how annoying other vacuums are until you get the Narwal and you don't have to settle for inadequacy anymore. Now you are probably thinking, this sounds great, but what are the drawbacks? If you want something that is the equivalent of scrubbing the floors on your hands and knees, this isn't it. It isn't 100% perfect. Yes, you will find the occasional crumb still on the floor after vacuuming and you aren't going to eat off your floor after it's done mopping. This isn't a professional cleaning service. It's a robotic device, so I would say manage your expectations. I didn't go into this expecting perfection, so I'm okay with this being really good, not absolutely perfect. It has saved me from a lot of labor, and that matters to me as a person with chronic health conditions. The app has a number of settings and it took me a while to figure out where all the settings are, but I appreciate that it has those customizations. If you don't feel comfortable with technology and app use, that might be a drawback for you. But you could just simply use the buttons on the Narwal unit itself rather than the app for operation. A pro tip: use the lock feature on the unit to lock the buttons. My cat started using the Narwal as a perch and accidentally started pressing buttons. He felt all powerful at his newfound skills in being able to launch the device all on his own! ... show more

  • Review of my new NARWAL Freo Z Ultra
Color: White
I purchased a new NARWAL Freo Z Ultra and it is so bad that I feel compelled to warn others. I’ve found that it does next to nothing of what is claimed or advertised. Thankfully, I bought it on Amazon and can return it without any issues! After receiving and installing the robot, I sought to download the app on my other commonly used smart devices and was stumped. There wasn’t any information available as to why this wouldn't work. Nothing at all was available on configuration of the app to allow the user account to operate the robot from multiple android devices. I attempted to get help with this matter from the NARWAL website support chat as well as emails to NARWAL aftermarket customer support. Support on Chat convinced me to switch pages to review some operation regarding the app, which of course, had the result of ending the chat session but didn’t even have any helpful information. It wasn’t a fruitful discussion anyway with Chat, but I had hoped that they would have escalated the question to someone with a little more experience. Likewise, aftermarket customer support by email was a silly thing. Why request a serial number from the machine, which does not have anything to do with app functionality? Because they don’t know what they’re doing. They stall and wear out the customer who will hopefully then just give up and go away. Guess what. Wrong customer. The app to operate the robot is useless to anyone who wants the freedom to control the robot from more than one’s smartphone. No other downloaded apps on the owner's other smart devices or even a laptop computer will recognize the owner and allow control of the robot. This is quite strange. I use multiple devices throughout the day and don't have my smartphone strapped to my person. Thus, an app that allows the owner to control the robot from multiple smart devices is essential. The app for the NARWAL Freo Z Ultra doesn't allow the owner to control their robot from more than one downloaded app. In a later email (days of wasted time and multiple emails later) customer support suggested that I create fake accounts as if I were multiple family members in order to fool the app into functioning on my other smart devices. It's hard to imagine at this moment a more inefficient app or greater waste of my time other than the support emails between us that required me to repeat myself and still not get an answer to my questions. Ever get the feeling that your requests have no more effect than if you were screaming into the grand canyon? Yeah, it was like that. The mapping feature is not optimal and lacks the ability to easily modify absurdly partitioned rooms. For example, the Freo Z Ultra has had to remap my home 3 times before I could use it and it still displays a very inaccurate map. It has lumped four independent rooms into one enormous room that it labels a living room! I ask you, if the robot uses AI and a camera to map, then how can it completely misidentify the clearly different furnishings of and large doorway archways between these rooms?! From the very heavy and ornately carved dining room suit to the typical furnishings of a foyer as well as that of a gourmet kitchen, the so-called AI can't recognize the difference between rooms from these clear demarcations. Then, it identified the based of a large, brass lamp stand as a shoe, a 5 Lb hand weight as a pile of dog poop, and a bedside table leg as “other”, because it doesn’t understand what a bedside table is. Enough said. The mapping feature is abysmal. On a happy note, setting up scheduled cleanings is a breeze. Unfortunately, the Freo Z Ultra floor cleaning results are less than adequate. The vacuum power essentially should blow away the competition, except for the fact that it doesn't really pickup much of anything. My highly flawed Roborock Q Revo that breaks down about every 3 months does a far better job of vacuuming at its less than half reported power of the NARWAL Freo Z Ultra. This struck me as being impossible until I did a side-by-side comparison. In my opinion, the Freo Z Ultra struggles at every level in everything that you buy a floor cleaning robot to do. The app is junk, the mapping feature and ability to edit the map is heavily flawed, the floor cleaning performance is substandard. For all the hype and flashy advertising over this machine I'm astounded that it doesn't perform like a champ but rather it significantly underperforms like a drunken chimp. So much for its onboard AI, or as I’ve come to understand it as the drunken chimp’s half-witted cousin. Well, I've learned some important lessons from all of this nonsense. 1. Always purchase through Amazon all your big ticket items that could potentially fail spectacularly; 2. Have the multiple device protection plan in place for the same reason. Why? Because of lesson learned #3: Never do business with a company unless you can trust their customer support to kindly, effectively and efficiently assist you through resolution of issues with their products. I'm done. I'm submitting a request for return from Amazon and based on my experiences with NARWAL aftermarket product support and their website chat will avoid repeating these miseries in the future. ... show more
