A couple months in and we are pleased. Have hauled huge camp boxes in a downpour, a folding table flat for 13 hours, casually slapped surf rods with bungees on top. Little noise when loaded, more noise it seems with small loads. Was straightforward to assemble, but we took our time. There’s a good walkthrough online for 4Runner owners. A bit tight on the front wind screen assembly. Definitely want four hands on the assembly and install. Low profile for short clearances but aggressive looking. Several forward and rear mount points. Intend to mount small LEDs for camp set up. Several openings for ratchets and bungees, virtually no issue finding a further hook point to tighten each cord. Strong enough for me to grab and pull myself up to load. Was missing two hex nuts which I grabbed quick at hardware store for the fast turnaround. Hilariously, because of its low profile and abundant connect points, there’s almost no room for decals other that the wind screen, so that grand plan will be discarded. MASSIVE POINTS for installing directly to factory 5th gen 4Runner side rails without crossbars or drilling. This was a key requirement for us, and glad it put us right in this middle price point. Because of this, was able to remove my Yakima crossbars. Love them, but the basket gets us the most for our tent camping. Would like to see a tread bar of some sort running from front to back, down the middle, for the crossbar support. The bend is necessary for load, I understand, but I’d feel better with a center spine underneath to hold the bars up a bit more. Lots of solutions out there, limited intel. I recommend clearly listing your feature needs and use cases, then scouring every single message board, blog, and video for any little bit of hands on sense. Looks great! Fitment was perfect. Feels sturdy...BUT!!!! after unpacking I quickly found out that the kit was missing hardware! The only Thing included was the rail brackets and their bolts. I had to go to Fastenal and purchase 36 sets of washers, bolts and nuts. (Non-corrosive) aren’t cheap! As well as the 8 nuts for the mounting brackets. Very disappointed in that aspect. Paying this much money, that should never be an issue! ... show more

Very nice !! Easy to install no factory cross bars needed. I was able to do this myself but two people would be easier when sitting it on the vehicle. Love the look and profile it brings. I installed this on my 2018 4Runner I will drop some pics as well.

Easy to assemble, ensure you have a buddy or something to protect your roof as you install. Additionally, having tools specific to remove vehicle trim will be useful. Minimal wind noise at highway speeds.

Easy install and assemble, and looks great on 4runner, but not worth the value. Frame came bent on corner and foundational pieces bent with poor drill holes. Luckily, was able to bend pieces to somewhat correct fitting. Was missing multiple nuts and washers and ALL hex nuts and washers for foundational latches to rail bars. Had to go buy hardware to install. Maybe I got a used rack or just unlucky with my order, but very disappointed with n-fab. However, able to haul two large suitcases on top with multiple tie down options which is nice. ... show more

    • Good roof rack that uses the stock rails on 2020 4Runner Nightshade

Was looking for roof racks that used the stock rails, the ones I came across used crossbars to attach the rack or required taking out the stock rails. Also the ones that use crossbars sit higher, so getting into a garage may pose a problem. This roof rack has a low profile and is made of aluminum, so there shouldn't be rust issues. Sits behind the sunroof and should help hold stuff in place vs a flat roof rack. Putting it together was ok, I agree with another reviewer that the instructions are ok (goofy) and I have seen better from not made in the USA products. Was able to put it together and mount it solo, just use towels over the side rail and slide it till you reach the mounting points on the other side. 2 of the screws and nuts for the front part were the biggest pain, since there wasn't much room for fingers and the holes not lining up that well (even though other holes lined up and were loose). Also used blue Loctite that another review mentioned, since the nuts that come with it are not locking nuts. ... show more
