    • Worth every penny for the scanner.
Because it provides you with responses to some of the symptoms or codes it finds, this is known as an AI scanner. It does not, however, offer a study of various circumstances targeted at a recognized issue. For instance, it can identify the trim levels if your car is operating poorly, but it does not examine why particular combinations of trim levels might result in a particular problem. It also does not explain the possible meaning of the combo in terms of several symptoms. It may inform you that a particular kind of trim level may be the result of a vacuum leak, but it is unable to address both short-term and long-term trim levels with regard to conditions and speed. Having said that, I discovered that the car's recognition system did an excellent job of assisting me with diagnosis by feeding the outputs I received into a PC-based artificial intelligence system, which was able to evaluate the data and offer recommendations. One of the challenges I encountered was having to be able to modify wires or other components while I was viewing the scanner's results. You can only use it while inside the car and connected to the port because of its rather short OBD2 cable. Sometimes, as I was working in the dashboard, I could balance it and see the outcomes. The most notable thing is how fast I can turn vehicle acting odd into useful information. Convenience is important because I normally balance education, family, and repairs at home. This scanner connects quickly, consistently pulls codes, and provides me with concise descriptions without requiring me to navigate options. It is ideal for troubleshooting on the weekends, confirming repairs, or inspecting a family member's vehicle before they leave. This tool is surprisingly straightforward in contrast to my Mucar, which is designed for more complex system-level work, bidirectional tests, and sophisticated resets. When I am merely attempting to verify a misfire or identify a sensor problem, I do not need to run active tests or go into manufacturer-specific modules. Because it eliminates the professional-level complexity, it is actually faster for simple OBD2 operations. I also like how reliable the Bluetooth connection is. Although my Mucar is excellent, the wireless connection can be problematic in crowded shop settings. Even when I move around the car or switch between live data sources at home, this scanner maintains a connection without dropping. All things considered, I now always use this for personal purposes. It does not aim to take the place of a professional scan tool, which is precisely why it performs so effectively. It is rapid, dependable, and simple to use, which makes it ideal for at-home diagnostics while also providing me with the assurance I need from the equipment I use on a daily basis. This is well worth the investment if you are searching for a reliable home repair tool without the hassle of a shop-grade scanner. I'm an easy reviewer, so when I give less than 5 stars, it's because I am disappointed in a product. I have and use several different brands and models of scanners, ranging in price from $40 to over $900, so I feel I have a good basis of comparison. What disappoints me about this MUCAR scanner are a few things. When you first use it, you go through a process of choosing your time zone, language, etc. It also is a time to update all the software that has changed since the tool was packaged. This is a very slow process. I'm not sure why because it had a strong Wi-Fi signal. The problem may be on the MUCAR side of things. (By the way, MUCAR is a product of Thinkcar Technology Co., Ltd.) The next thing is that there is no case for the tool, not a soft case or hard case. At its price point, this is not priced as an entry level tool, so it shouldn't be delivered as one. A storage case would have been very nice. Another thing is that I found the interface to be clumsy. If you are thinking to upgrade from your existing scanner, you may find the interface frustrating. This scanner advertises to be bi-directional, which it is. But many people may believe than means you can make minor coding changes to your car, like disabling the Start/Stop feature, changing the number of turn signal blinks with one-touch signaling, changing whether all doors unlock with the remote or just the driver's door, etc. You can activate certain modules for test purposes, but you cannot make configuration changes with this scanner like you can with some others in this price range. Lastly, while the tool appears to cover every car in the world, I found it limited in what it actually covers. In my case, my car has 57 different control modules. This MUCAR scanner only identified 9 modules. At the time of this review, this scanner costs almost $300. My "go to" scanner for my car costs less than $200. So, I would not say it is a good value. To be clear, I only checked one car to evaluate. So, you may have a totally different experience. Also, your level of expertise or your needs may be different than mine. MUCAR does promote its MUAI feature which is an AI problem solver you can use to find a solution to your car's problems. I recommend doing more research and looking around if you want a mid-level scanner. UPDATE: I tried this scanner on my 2000 Ford F150 with a known DTC. The AutoVIN function worked well to identify my truck and detected the DTC (P0453 - Evaporative Emission Control System Fault). Online searches say this DTC is for an EVAP Fuel Tank Pressure Switch failure. However, the MUAI pointed to an A/C pressure sensor or relay problem, totally off target. ... show more

Purchased scan tool to perform abs break bleed on 2017 Kia soul. Scanner picked up vin number on vehicle quickly but when went to perform the brake bleed the scanner locks up and does nothing. I erased the Kia software on the scanner and reloaded it. Again as before still locking up when attempting to bleed the brakes. Have not tried using scanner on anything else but am hoping it works for simple tasks like pairing the battery to the car. At this time I’m pretty disappointed in the scanner especially when paid a good amount for the scanner. Based on it’s performance thus far I would not recommend it. ... show more
