Far motion detection, and I feel safer.

These are amazing and easy to set up. Notifications are constant. The motion detection is very far, from our trees out to the road. We live on a dead end road and we were having some trouble with speeding college kids, and a sign was damaged. Now we have cameras to cover our neighborhood. I feel safer and am very happy at how easy it was to set up the app, the cameras. Just make sure to have a lot of Energizer lithium batteries, weather resistant. It is also cool to catch the wild life on camera. The night vision is amazing too. I highly recommend these cameras.

Good Trail Cameras but the Paid Subscription Is a Downside

I purchased this 2-pack of Moultrie Edge 3 cellular trail cameras to monitor outdoor areas and capture wildlife without having to visit the cameras constantly. I like that they offer 40MP photos, 1080p video and remote access through the mobile app, making it convenient to check activity from my phone. The cameras have a discreet design and having two units allows me to monitor different locations at the same time. The image quality and cellular connectivity are useful features for anyone who wants to observe wildlife remotely. Battery life depends on how frequently the cameras detect movement, take photos or videos and upload images through the cellular network. I appreciate that the settings can be adjusted to help conserve battery power. The cameras offer motion detection up to 100 feet and a fast 0.5 sec trigger speed, which is useful for capturing wildlife as it passes by. However actual detection results can vary depending on placement and environmental conditions. Cellular coverage is another important factor, since the cameras need a suitable signal to send images to the app. My biggest disappointment is the paid subscription requirement for cellular features. I understand that cellular service has operating costs but I would have preferred a free basic plan with limited photos or features instead of having to pay extra to use the service. This adds to the overall cost of owning the cameras. Overall these are practical cameras with useful features but the subscription requirement keeps them from being a 5 star product for me. I would recommend them to people who need remote wildlife monitoring especially if they are comfortable with the ongoing cost. A free basic subscription option would make this product much more appealing.

Absolutely Terrible Product — Slow, Unreliable, and Zero Real Support

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the Moultrie Edge 3 cameras have been such an awful experience that I feel obligated to warn others. I fully understand how traffic hierarchy works on a cell tower, but that’s not the issue here. I have full bars on my cell phone in the exact same location, yet these cameras somehow manage to pull in an extremely weak signal. And here’s the kicker: it is currently December 1, and I am just now getting my first photos — from October 23. That’s more than a month of complete radio silence, only for the cameras to suddenly dump old, outdated images like they’ve been asleep the entire time. Customer support is no help whatsoever. They put you through a long, tedious, copy-and-paste troubleshooting sequence that does nothing to fix the problem. It’s clear they don’t actually understand the issues with their own product, and you’ll waste hours trying the same pointless steps over and over. To make matters worse, the cameras are unbelievably slow when communicating with the app. Every action takes forever, and half the time the app doesn’t even acknowledge what you’re trying to do. Bottom line: be cautious with this company. The Edge 3 is a terrible product from top to bottom — unreliable signal, delayed photos, unhelpful support, and painfully sluggish performance. I regret buying it and won’t be purchasing from Moultrie again.
