Mounted this on a Ruger American 22lr bolt action with a Nikon Buckmaster 4-12X50 BDC Rifle Scope. The unit adds a fair amount of weight to the rifle and is a little cumbersome to carry around in the field. Also, there is no way to adjust the backlighting of the screen which is pretty bright. Too bright really. In total darkness you are illuminating your upper body and the area right around you. With a small field of view, you will be scanning around the area and the background lighting will be almost flashing due to the IR light shining on things close to you and making the view screen get brighter to a point it's hard to look at. The ability to turn down the backlighting would be huge! First try using it, I took it out and was scanning one of our pastures and spotted a Fox about 80yrds out. Perfect image, no mistake what it was. I took the shot, missed low. I was able to watch the Fox jump in the air and followed him as he ran off into the woods. With the rifle mounted in a sled, I used the view screen to sight the scope in, bullseye at 75yrds and then stretched out to 80 and then 100yrds. The system worked great. The screen gets a little blurry when zooming in with the scope but I could still see the impact holes in the target to adjust the scope at 100yrds. I leave the scope zoom at the lowest power of 5x and adjusted the focus on the camera for a rather clear picture at 80yrds while using the night vision. That night I went out to the same pasture, scanned as I did before, saw the same Fox and took the shot. This time I heard the "whop" sound of impact and the critter was down! 2 more to go! Take your time with the setup and fine tuning just like you would with a new scope and I think you will be pleased. I am!

This unit works well for the price range I am happy with the unit , the instruction translations leave a lot to be desired but it's easy to figure out how to set it up, best scope add-on is very dependent on the quality of your scope the larger your lens the more light it will let, the more light in, the better the camera works. it comes with two different tubes to fit your scope the first tube with a compression fitting doesn't work very well for my scope and I can't see that it would stay in place very well with a higher powered rifle other than an air rifle, the scope with the set screws works very well and is very stable I had to add longer screws for the tube to get it to center on the crosshairs, the camera focuses well and the set screw ensures that stays put, the flashlight it comes with zooms very well and lights are pretty good at a hundred yards but there is no way to aim the flashlight the match the scope, Im personally am going to add a more powerful IR flashlight,

GARBAGE - Great concept, terrible delivery. CONS: There were several issues with the kit I received. 1 - First, right out of the box the instructions are in poorly broken EngRish. It was easy enough to figure out but if you're going to butcher the instructions don't even bother sending them. 2 - Second, the scope adapter rings that they send didn't tighten all the way on the scope, so the mount was unstable. I was able to stack the rings together to make it work but it still moved around more than I wanted it too. 3 - That would've been ok if it would actually work at night, sadly it does a poor job. That brings me to number three, poor night performance. Since the only reason to buy something like this is to use it at night you would kind of expect it to work at night, right? Well, the truth is its only good for about 10 yards in front of you, anything farther than that forget it. The way they have the IR light setup in the pictures will not work. If you mount the light on your scope the IR washout from the flashlight creates a glow in the scope that is so bright you can't see the redacle. The only way to get it to work is to mount the light somewhere else. Even then, the range is pathetic... maybe 50 yards..maybe. I even tried a brighter IR spot light that I bought somewhere else.. it was better buy still pretty terrible. 4 - Camera malfunctions? The camera itself had issues with cutting in and out (which I wash eventually able to eliminate with all new batteries, also reminds me to mention batteries) and after a shot the screen would get significantly dimmer and never return to normal with out removing the batteries. I was shooting this on an air rifle too so its not like the recoil was so severe that it over-rated the camera parts. So between not being able to see through the scope from the washout and trying to focus a dimly lit it was a constant chore just trying to see through the scope enough to focus. 5 - The batteries - it takes 18650's, not included. I must have completely spaced this since I though it would take regular AA's.. it doesn't. You'll need to grab a set of rechargable 18650's but I caution you.. not all of them are the same. I had several different brands laying around and not all of them fit into this batter fixture. PROS - 1. works well at short distances. 2. adjustable camera focus - i was surprised to learn that the camera was adjustable. I was able to focus on the target or the redicle based on the camera focus. 3... sorry thats all, I'll be sending this back.

I bought this as a cheap solution to night hunting. First of all there are different size 18650 batteries. Some will not fit in the screen battery slot. Secondly the instructions in my opinion were horrible. Thirdly, after finally getting it installed I discovered you can’t load a bullet on a bolt action rifle. So anytime you want to put one in the chamber you have to remove the camera. Which is a headache. Having said that, once you figure out how to mount it and how to adjust it I am very pleased in how well it works. My hunting spot is only about 75 yards to a woods line and you can see everything extremely well. I can’t say how well it works beyond that. I will probably have to switch it to a lever action so I can load bullets without removing the camera. But for the price and the quality I am certainly glad I made this purchase. I was considering a actual night vision scope but thought I would try this first. I am extremely happy with the product for the price I paid. Would buy again tomorrow.

Pros: once you figure out how to work it properly, it works fine. The battery life is outstanding as well (in the right conditions). It doesn't change the zero on your firearm. Cons: it is quite heavy. Figuring out the magnification is extremely annoying, and it goes out of focus on its own often. It does not work in cold conditions, which if you're from the Midwest like myself, can be a major issue. Hunting with it in 15 degree weather, it shut off after about 20 min of use and wouldn't turn back on. In an environment where it 15 degrees is actually warm in the winter, this makes it effectively useless in cold weather conditions. To anyone that says "perhaps the batteries ran out" this is false; as soon as I got back to my house and was inside for a few min., it turned on again. Overall you get what you paid for. The illumination distance is good. Getting it set on your firearm takes some time and the magnification focus is very iffy.

Damn good night vision product. Spedn your time getting all the rings tightened down and the camera fovused properly and this will easily out do any multi thousand dollar night vision rig!! At first I was having trouble with the image, but after tightening everything down and alinging and focusing the camera right and screwing that down it doesn't ever shift and the image is spectacular! The ir light it comes with eill get the job done at up to ~100yards, but the t50 i ordered on ebay for $20 made the images crystal clear up to over 200 yards! Was not expecting this to work sooo well with all the bad image quality reviews, but I understand were they are running into trouble so I can't blame them too much. However, it is still user error as I was able to figure out my way over that "hump" and get my camera focused and sturdy. A few things to keep in mind: get some good batteries as bad ones will have to changed out everyday and they need to be at full charge for the ir flashlight to work well. Get a better ir flashlight (t50 or better) if you are using for long range night hunting. Remember to use the focus on the ir camera to clear up the image only AFTER mounting the camera equipment down tightly. Everytime you move the camera depth this has to be changed, but once you get it right then you never have to change it again. Make sure the camera is at the same clearance depth as your scope's recommend eye relief length. For example, if your scope recommends staying 3" away from the reticle wuth your eye. Make sure the mounting rings and ir camera tube is oriented so that the camera is 3" away from the reticle as well. Once you do this, then you can adjust the ir camera focus to clear up image. Since there is three focuses in total that have to be alinged I can see the hang ups, but this equipment is truely crystal clear when do correctly and an super amazing value!! I hardly leave reviews unless I believe the product has impacted me so much that it warrants me spending my time giving my opinion on the product. Even more rare are reviews I leave that are good. So you can believe me when I am telling you this product is worth it. I will be updating my reviews with pictures of the actual night vision images I see when I look at the screen. 3 hogs down so far and counting. Because of the increasingly nocturnal nature of the animals I would never have been able to eradicate them from my property. This product has made my life sooo much easier. Thank you for listening to my opinions on this product and I hope you choose to enjoy this product like I get to.

Item is of surprising quality for a 100$ night vision attachment. The provided ring tightening scope mount does not scratch your scope and once adjusted provided a clear night time image at about 50 yards. I even caught some critters roaming around at night

I'm told it doesn't come with batteries, so I buy batteries. I get this thing on my gun, I can't see but maybe 20 yards. It says to get a better IR illuminator. So basically I'm paying for a camera and a screen. My screen was very cheap plastic. The camera is wobbly, it will stabilize if you use the right ring, I would imagine if you bump it you'd have to reset. The display isn't horrible once you get a picture and get focused. I'm just confused on why they even sell the illuminator. Expect to buy one and batteries on top of this purchase. So my setup I'm looking at now is at least 300+. Not as good of a deal as I thought. Not worth the headache. I'd save my money and go w Thor night scope.
