This is awesome all around option. The price is also great for all the functions. I bought for ratting with my PCPs and for checking out Owls and bats and other critters at night. Small enough I carry in my jacket pocket when hiking and I have a digital monocular to help my tired eyes see better. Some have said it would be better if it had an IR but I like that it doesn’t and I use one separate for night time dark area use. I tried it as a stand alone scope, wchich works well and clip-on mode where I have problems. Clip-on mode with my LPVO I can go 1-3 power and quality is OK. Problem is that in clip-on mode there is no way to see a recording time since it is in upper left hand side corner. I wish this is placed in different spot to be seen in clip-on mode. ... show more

Perfect budget device that can see in the dark using infrared. It works great with an infrared LED light. I love that It records video and audio! I particularly appreciate the white phosphor color palette. It really looks like night vision. Definitely need to get the QDF170 so I can flip it to the side. I actually prefer using it as a scope when I zoom in. The reticle is finer than. Red dot. Especially when I and shooting further away. I was able to see my misses at 550 yards and was able to make a correction to hit steel. Used for about a month now and WOW. This is quickly becoming my favorite optic. Its a optic on its own, a magnifier I throw behind my aimpoint, a clip on for my LPVO, and a action cam for those range sessions! The build is solid and the ease of use has my kid already pulling the videos from the range on his own through the DNT app. We took it out last night to look for raccoons. You will need to use an IR light but the Green & White phos color pallets look awesome! This optic is an incredible value for the money. Already added it to my christmas list for the wife to pick me up another lol ... show more

Fun little clip on. I was hoping it would be good enough to run standalone. But the tech isn't quite there. If your looking to use this in conjuction with a primary optic, or as range toy, it will definitely fit those bills
