I purchased this for my 2006 Matrix, and while it powered up fine, it could not connect to my car's computer. I got a communication error - "Error in communication with vehicle ECU." I confirmed the reader worked with a later model car, and I confirmed my Matrix's port worked just fine (I used a neighbor's code reader). I contacted Motopower's tech support at the email address they gave and haven't received a response and it's been about two weeks. I used Amazon to post a question to Motopower and got a response within a day. They were unable to tell me whether or not this reader worked on a 2006 Matrix. So I returned the unit to Amazon for a refund. I'm replacing it with a vGate iCar. ... show more

I love this little scanner and battery tester I wasn’t very confident that it would be a good scanner but It works great. The only reason I bought it was because I needed a battery tester and I saw that it was a scanner also and it does more than my little handheld matco scanner. Update when I replaced the engine in my truck this little scanner was a godsend it was the only one that I had that would display live data the only hiccup I had with it is that it wouldn’t clear the codes after I had everything dialed in it will only turn off the cel and leave the codes pending and it almost made me nuts thinking I still had problems until I hooked up my little matco hand held and cleared my codes the codes that were triggered when I blew up my engine were finally gone so I could focus on anything new that might pop up anyway I have since purchased a new one that will do pretty much everything and it was a big chunk of change so if the new one is as good as this one I will be happy I have to be able to communicate with John Deere and kubota mainly kubota because they get stuck in failsafe and you have to do a reset to bring it back to do the regeneration that caused it to go into limp mode to begin with if you own a tractor and it has a particulate filter and it wants to regen let it because it will go into limp mode and the engine won’t get enough rpm’s to clean out the filter and if it gets plugged it is a grand for the replacement plus labor and getting it out of limp mode because until last year you couldn’t get a bilateral scanner that would communicate with kubota because they wanted it to go back to them for service and to hook up their scanner it started at 250.00 and up from there ... show more
