It was smaller than expected, but that is on me- I should have paid more attention to the dimensions. It does absorb water but not as well as I’d like for it to- our dog is a very messy drinker and gets it everywhere. I’ve had mats previous to this one and the animals would spill, stain, and scratch them all up. With this mat my animals have not ruined or even attempted to scratch at all.
