This water dish worked perfectly for about 1 week. Now, the valve doesn’t open to allow the water to fill the bowl. The valve works fine when separated from the assembly, but will not work when it is assembled for use. About 50 pounds of weight on the top of the water tank, will force the valve to open and fill the bowl which means to me the clearance between the valve and the tenant at the bottom of the dish designed to open the valve is Miss engineered ... show more

I like the fact that I can fill up the food and water dishes and they last for 2-3 days for a large dog. What I dislike is the water comes out easily because water dish is so close to the ground.

I bought this product so that my dogs have all day access to food and water but this product doesn’t work properly. The water bottle do not refill the water bowl like it’s supposed to when it’s empty. I have to pick it up and manually tilt it in order for water to trickle out. It defeats the purpose of having a self filling water bowl. The food bowl works much better but occasionally the food also does not come out when the bowls are empty. The size of the bowls are perfect for my dogs. I have a 60lb bulldog and a 70lb pitbull. The bowls hold about 2 1/2 cups of food at a time. My dogs eat around 3 cups a day. They are easy to clean and easy to fill. They do slide quite a bit while the dogs are eating even on a non slip Mat. I think it need a bit more weight inside the base to keep it from being pushed around ... show more

These keep the food and water fresh and clean. They are well made and easy to clean. Being of medium size they are easy to handle and carry once filled. I have tried other similar products that were found to be clunky, heavy and would leak. These operate as expected with no leaking or other issues. Initially I thought these may be too small for my pups that I would be filling them often. It has proven to be the opposite. I filled them a week ago, the food is 3/4 full and the water is 1/3 full still. My friend recommended these. She has three large dogs and only has to fill them once a week or so. I got these in January for a pair of rescued cats. I filled them both up and immediately noticed that the water container needed to be squeezed from the sides to fill up the bowl, but once it got a push, it did fill up. I also had another automatic waterer so I knew I had backup. Also, the hole to fill the food is weirdly shaped, and cat food got everywhere. Right away I noticed that the food didn't refill and I had to scoop it to fill up the bowl and wondered why the level of the water wasn't going down, but chalked it up to the cats having a preference. The water in the actual bowl looked low, so I squeezed the sides and it filled up again. Today was when I really got mad. I didn't realize the backup waterer was empty *and* this stupid waterer wasn't refilling the bowl and my cats didn't have water for at least a day and half. I'm glad I finally did notice and they both drank at the same time. I'm glad they have small heads and could fit. I ordered the Petsafe set as that's the auto waterer I keep downstairs for my dog. We bought this for a four day trip, where our cats would be home alone. I also bought an electronic food dispenser. We set both of them up the week before we left. When we came back, the electronic one was working fine, but the cats didn’t like it. This thing they are at all the time, it saves us having to get down on our hands and knees to feed dry food every other day, recommend definitely worth the price.
