We had two larger feeders, one of which was a two-bowl feeder that we used with a brother & sister bonded pair while they were young. As they got older, they grew to dislike eating right next to each other (the sister is a bit of an aggressive eater), so we needed to get a new feeder for her. We tried one of these out, and loved it so much we bought two more. They're very compact in size, but fairly stable. They're also much better at stopping our aggressive eater from trying to sneak food, as with the old ones she could paw up the shoot and get some kibble to drop out. These feeders do not keep food in every chamber (every other, 3 out of 6 chambers) so she can't get food to drop down in between feedings. They were very easy to clean and set up. We are trying them with batteries to test the longevity (the description claims up to 180 days), because it's nice that we can move them if needed during company or set them up in locations without needing an outlet. The price is awesome, and these feeders are a perfect solution for us. I highly recommend giving these a try. If longevity on battery life ends up being a problem, they still come with a proper USB Cable & Block for operation plugged in without batteries. One thing the instructions don't clearly state is if batteries are installed while it's plugged in via the USB if the batteries are only used as backup...I wish that was outlined in the directions as it just describes each individual method of powering the unit. Overall, though, you can't beat the product at this price range. Our other feeders were $80 and $120 each and these are much better quality and easier to use. ... show more

Makes feeding your cat easy while away and associates meal time with the auto feeder rather than you yourself… my cat can be very demanding now I just tell him to go take it up with the feeder. lots of customizable options for feeding times and portion sizes. You can use it with the USB C cord or three D batteries I bought this thinking it had a rechargeable battery but that was actually a different model that was more expensive. Oh well, I don’t mind using the batteries because they supposedly will last in this auto feeder for six months. It holds approximately 10 days of food for my cat before needing to be refilled. But the refill is easy to do and there is a LED indicator when food is running low. ... show more

    • Works pretty good with limitations

So I didn't have too hard a time setting it up and getting it working, but it's not very intuitive to change the time on the clock. Reason I mention it is, you'll be doing that twice a year because it doesn't recognize DST. That being said, the schedule is easy to do, works reliably well, and even the pesky raccoons can't break into it. They've tried! So yes, I have this outside under a table on my deck so the local momma cat and her kittens have a reliable source of food - they live under my deck. So after some trial and error we figured out how much to give so that no food was left out at night. Well, the raccoons weren't having it, and they could smell the residue I guess. The couldn't open the cannister, so they stole the metal bowl and plastic bowl base! Couldn't find them anywhere. Sent an email to Petlibro and they sent us a link to where we could buy replacements, which was $8 each and free shipping. The nice thing about the bowl that came with it is that it hooks to the base, so cats can't get it loose. Raccoons are a different story I guess. Battery life is good, it's been about 2 1/2 months since I set it up and I haven't had to replace them yet.     • Great Unit with Responsive, thorough Customer Service!

Purchased on the advice of my daughter who had one for her cat and said it worked fine when they went on vacation for a few days. Tricky at first to program for only 4 feedings and decide if portion sizes were correct but my cat LOVED it! She would position herself in front and watch the bowl just before it dispensed or run from another room when she heard it go off. Worked perfectly for 7 months, but a few weeks ago, my cat seemed to be hungry more often, going to the cabinet where her food is. I looked at her feeder and although the display showed everything as being correct, it did not dispense food at the time it should have, and neither would it dispense when I pressed the manual button! I unplugged the feeder, took batteries out, emptied it and checked the rotor inside but could not get the feeding tray to move or be removed! I tried several ways to take it apart, following the manual instructions but finally had to email PetLibro Customer Support directly. Although the Amazon window for return had ended 4 months ago, the manual guaranteed trouble free operation for one year and true to their word, Pet Libro was quickly responsive to my emails, reuqested that I not only describe the problem but send a video of trying to operate it, did sent clear videos back about how to remove the tray. Unfortunately, even with all the help, I could not move the tray out to clean it and remove whatever particles had built up under the rubber rotor over time. THANK YOU so very much to Goolil, PetLibro's very kind and understanding customer support engineer, who agreed after much troubleshooting and arranged a new replacement unit which I received within 3-4 days! It is operating flawlessly nowand I feel confident that my cat will be safely and reliably fed when I need to travel. The battery back-up DOES operate to continue the feeding times even if the power goes off too. I had my doubts when I saw how small the hopper was on this. It's been a solid feeder that is easy to program, and works constantly. I like the sleek look, and it's proven more tamper resistant than past feeders. it holds plenty of food for my gluttonous cat.

I haven't had mine a full year, and it was working fine until I changed batteries. Now it will NOT drop food even though I reset the schedule and the clock. Still, nothing. My poor cat.
