Great set up. I love being able to stack the bins. Saves tons of space and looks so nice. It hold tons of dog food and doesn't tip at all. The larger of the bins doesn't seem to latch super tight but it does seal. Their food remains fresh and the scoop is huge and holds a lot of food so I don't have to go back and forth to fill up the dog bowls. Love it so far. We feed our two cats wet food in the morning and then dry food during the day. Been doing this their whole lives. We buy a 22lb bag of food as we buy expensive cat food it's better in the larger bag. So this holds that with room to spare. With the top part we keep the wet food. The food we get is plastic with two sides you can split in half. I don't want to say brand names because that might flag this review. I'm really glad I got it. The only downside is the top part, the lid is not airtight by any means. The bottom large part is but not the top. The lid is very warped, out of the box, and is very thin plastic. So anything would bend it anyway. Either way this is one heck of a value because it is exactly what I needed. And for that reason alone I am saying if you're looking at it, then just get it. It is worth it. ... show more

I made the mistake of leaving this storage container outside with the smaller container on top of the large unit. A friend had left my bag of birdseed outside and a squirrel opened the bag leaving birdseed all over. So I think the same squirrel is the little culprit who chewed a hole in the smaller container getting pieces of plastic all over the ground and mixed in with the cardinal seed mix. So we added the cardinal seed to the assorted bird seed mix in the large container and put the small ,chewed through container which we left empty on the top. We are hoping the squirrel doesn't try to chew through the large container which is in perfect shape so far. We also don't have a place to keep the bird seed container as the front door to our home opens up in our living room. We do not have a garage or car port... if the squirrel gets the large container we will be forced to buy a smaller, new container that might fit under the kitchen sink . We loved the 2 piece set we ordered plus the color was so pretty. It's an aqua or seafood green and the base is clear. That animal who chewed through the plastic must have super strong teeth. We think it was the fat little squirrel as I saw him/her chewing through the formerly unopened bird seed bag. I definitely recommend purchasing this set but probably use it for dog or cat food. If for bird seed try to store indoors away from squirrels. ... show more

    • ALMOST CAUSED MY CAT TO SUFFOCATE!
BE CAREFUL!!! The lock is insanely easy for a cat to get into. My cat got into it and couldn't get out. She's alive, but she could have suffocated. She was soaking wet from the condensation, and so weak that she couldn't jump out of the box by herself. If you buy this, I recommend putting it in a closet, and/or cutting off hinge parts and putting something light on it. The latch should be stronger. It does help keep the food fresh, but it's dangerous if you have a clever cat who likes food. Thank God my cat is okay, but this was a scary situation. ... show more
