The large container holds a full 50 lb bag of rice...I repeat - 50 POUNDS of glorious grainy goodness fits in the bottom container! Needless to say, I was thrilled to find that I wouldn't have to shell out $50+ for a rice dispensing container. The IRIS Pet Foot container is like any other large tupperware container. The plastic is fairly rigid with some flexibility, the lid is connected to the clear base and flips upwards on the shorter end of the container, and the latch holds the lid down firmly in place. I question if this container is truly "airtight" as the gasket going around the lid is not rubber, but is white foam. While this wouldn't affect my rice any (nor let any insects in), I can imagine over time that this wouldn't hold up - but I could be wrong. I will update the review as the years go by. I have another smaller container by IRIS for my dog's food that has the same gasket, and so far his food has maintained its crunchy texture. The smaller container sits right on top of the larger container, but is not latched onto the larger container in any way. There are grooves in the lid of the larger container, so the smaller container will not shift around nor move should you nudge the top container or decide to utilize the wheels on the unit and move the entire set around. The top container holds about half of a 25 lb bag of brown rice as I speak - a 10 lb bag of rice should fit in the top container without any issues. It's dimensions are small enough where I can put the entire container on my bottom shelf since I don't want to be lifting that thing off the larger container. Overall, I'm pretty happy with these containers. They hold a lot, don't take up much space, and protect my food. ... show more

First, I have to say that this was an excellent purchase! I have two cats and one dog. I keep their food in my pantry in the bags and one of my cats just loves to tear the bags up to eat the food even if there is food in the bowl! He even started tearing holes in the dog food bag. So everyday , I was cleaning up a mess. I started looking into containers and found these. Which are great because the dog food can go in the big container and the cat food in the small container. The wheels are not attached when it arrives, but you just have to push them into the holes and your done. It rolls beautifully even when its completely full with dog food. The large container holds the entire big bag of dog food that I purchase. The smaller container that I am using for the cats does not, but I just put the rest on a top shelf. Even with all the weight the wheels have no buckling or anything. The scoop is an added plus. I usually just scoop with the dog bowl but this is much nicer. The handle and lid are very sturdy and I don't seem them breaking any time soon. I have only one complaint and that is the color. I was almost going to return them because the color was not as described. I ordered the moon grey and it not grey at all. Its blue. I don't appreciate it when descriptions are not accurate. But since they are just in the pantry and not seen, I didn't send them back. Overall, this is a wonderful purchase for anyone that is looking for a cost effective storage container. And if it I did not have cats, the top container would be great for dog treats, dog toys, or dog shampoo, dog condition, dog nail clipper, dog brush, etc. ... show more

I bought this item two years ago and it's been the absolute, hands down, best pet food storage container I've ever purchased. I've been using the bottom for a 16lb bag of dry cat food, (with room to spare) and the top container for a 6lb bag of dry dog food, with the included scoop,and there's still loads of room to spare. KEEPS PET FOOD FRESH: I purchase both pet foods monthly and it keeps the food as fresh as the day I opened the bags.I've never had the pet food go stale month to month. If you have just one type of pet, the bottom can be used for the dry food and the top can be used for treats that tend to go stale more quickly. SPACE SAVER: It rolls smoothly and because it's on the narrow side, it fits in a space smaller than I thought it would. For me, 22lbs of pet food all in one neat little space, gave me part of my pantry back. IT'S DURABLE: After two years of daily use, it's held up beautifully. The clips and the hinges are still attached and intact. Even when I dropped the top container filled with food, it's never opened, the plastic has never cracked.The cats love to take a running jump onto the top and ride it while I roll it across the kitchen...so does my three year old . hah! Yeah, it's pretty durable! :) If I ever need another, I'm definitely going with IRIS brand. As a matter of fact, I'm on here right now looking to purchase a single piece IRIS just for the pet treats. ... show more
