I recently got a Tesla Model 3, so it made me try the charging adapter. I was first worried that it wouldn’t work because of the compatibility issues it may face. However, after a couple of uses, I'm getting confidence in using the product. It is actually pretty simple to use, just plug the adapter into CCS, and plug it into the vehicle. It is that simple. The charging speed is relatively good, and the compact size makes it highly portable, which aligns with my preference for avoiding bulky items in my car. So far, I haven't encountered any issues with this adapter, but I will continue to monitor its performance to see how long it lasts. ... show more

I have no idea why, but some of these have a little pin on the back to hold them in place while others do not. It seems to make zero difference and my cousin has broken those pins on several of these that actually do have the pin. This one does not have the pin. This goes on the charger and in the Tesla just fine. Do it in that order. If you put it in the Tesla, then hook the charger up, it sometimes just doesn't work. Why? No idea. I tested this the same way I test all of these. I took one of the Teslas on my farm out to Electrify America. This time it was my aunt's brand new Model X. She bought the Model X because her Model Y was a pile of garbage. I still don't understand why she decided that Tesla was trash so she bought another, much more expensive, Tesla. Well, whatever. At least she got the steering wheel and not the yoke. Anyway, the charging station nearest me only has two flavors of charger. 150kW and 350kW. I went with the 350kW charger since this is supposed to be able to handle 250kW and 250kW is more than 150kW obviously. I then went into the store that sells wall stuff and goofed off for a half an hour or so. It charged just fine. The batteries weren't dead, so it was 100% charged when I came out. It apparently delivered 95kWh. That's close enough. So, it works just fine. ... show more

I love that this gives us the option to charge up at a tesla station. We are on the road. Or the summer, we traveled, and had a hard time finding working electric vehicle charging stations. Because of our experience over the summer, I bought this so that we would have the option to use Tesla EV chargers. It’s well made and comes in a nice suede bag. This is a must have product if you own multiple EV's and have a Tesla charger at home. It allows you to use a Tesla charger on other types of EV's (compatible with this adaptor). We have family members and friends with non-Tesla EV's, and this has been awesome for them to use when visiting our home (we have a Tesla charger). My car is a Prius Prime that uses the J1772 connector, but in the past, I've had bad luck with chargers often being out of order and not available. I was able to try out this adapter at a local restaurant that offers free chargers for both J1772 type vehicles and for Teslas. Initially, when I tried the Tesla chargers, via the adapter, my car wouldn't charge, and I don't know why, so I switched over to one of the J1772 chargers. Later, I tried again with the Tesla charger with the adapter and it worked. I don't know what the problem was previously, but it did work and charged up my car just fine. I deducted one star under ease of use because of the initial failure, but that may not have been the fault of the adapter. I just don't know. I did find the adapter to be well-made, and the mechanical connections seemed solid. ... show more

This is a Tesla to J1772 charger adapter which means you can charge your non-Tesla such as my Bolt EUV using a Tesla charger. This has a nice looking matte finish and smaller form factor than my other equivalent adapter. Neither adapter will handle a Tesla supercharger, as these are meant for use with their overnight Destination chargers such as you'll find at a hotel, or a Tesla wall charger if you for some reason have one of those for charging your non-Tesla or perhaps you have a Tesla and a non-Tesla. It comes with a nice carrying bag, though the bag says nothing on the outside so I'd always be peaking inside to remember what's inside it since I'd only use this adapter on the rare occasion of a road trip (we use our EV locally for the most part). Therefore the bag is useless to me unless I write "Tesla adapter" on the outside of the bag, otherwise better to keep it in the original box or just keep the adapter itself in my bag of "necessities" in my trunk so I can quickly find it when I need it. ... show more
