When I read the review saying it made the persons hair red I was hesitant to purchase but did anyway. It did in fact bring out the brassy tone of my hair but so does practically any other coloring product. I am 41 and recently decided to stop box dying my grey hairs. I'd been using temporary color or a color depositing conditioner to get by but wasn't really happy with the 2 tone look. As in my top 3-4 inches was fresh natural hair and the bottom was decades boxed dyed over hair. On the first application I only did my roots and it did come out more on the red side, as I mentioned. My hair was silky soft and didn't seem to be too upset at me for using this product though. I tried it again a few weeks later on the length of my hair, somehow, by some miracle this stuff was able to sort of strip off all that old dark brown box color and leave me with an even reddish dark brown. I was and am THRILLED with this result. I did not want to have to strip my hair with a harsh lightening product to get an even color throughout. this might be of note, I used this product on wet hair the second time around, I felt as though that helped get it distributed more evenly. I've bought a similar hair dye shampoo before and I was specifically looking for 2 chamber pump bottles to get regular use out of the dye. I bought this one because it seemed the closest so the previous one I used, It's not. I can't tell you how well it dyes because the smell from the mixture was so bad that I dumped it all right away. It smelled like old fish and garbage, go stand by the dumpsters at a fish market, that's the smell. I pump the dye into a mixing bowl and mix with a brush. The smell hit me first and as I started to mix, it all clumped and congealed together. I don't know if I had an old bottle, there was no expiration date, or if this just isn't the product for me but I've learned my lesson and I'm just going to spend more money on something more dependable.

I bought the dark brown hair color shampoo because I wanted help with coloring some of my grays, instead my hair came out reddish brown. The company needs to change their listing, because it's not accurate. I did like the ease of use of this product and it was easy to rinse off the product with no staining or residue on my scalp. It did leave a little bit of staining on the side of my face but it came off pretty easy after I washed it off (next time I'll put face oil on my face to keep it from staining) I'll give this a chance, since my hair is now somewhat reddish and I hope it does last about 30 days like they claim.

I had bought a different one from another brand and the smell that was left on the hair was uh unpleasant. This seemed to be a common thing with such products. So when this mentioned that it actually smelled quite nice I was intrigued and bought it just to see if what they had advertised was indeed true. And that it was. It has a pleasant smell be it would seem alike any other shampoo dying product. If the lingering smell would be of a huge factor this product would be highly recommended. This was bought for a parent and they were so impressed by the smell as well, especially when in comparison to the prior brand that was purchased. The price for this one would be and is much cheaper too.
