Heat Focusing Reflector for Round Natural Gas and Propane Patio Heaters.The directional heat reflector, the protective cover of the outdoor terrace heater reflector, will be the most effective for heating a specific area. Our heat focusing reflector redirects heat where you want it, protects trees and walls from unwanted exposure, and saves on propane. Enjoy the perfect amount of warmth, while using the minimum amount energy STEP 1 Make sure the gap is large enough to fit the rim of the overhead reflector on your heater. IMPORTANT: Prior to installation remove all packing material and peel film from the front side of the reflector. Do not remove the soft protective screw cap or the soft rectangular protective sleeve from the clamps. Those clamp protectors are made from high heat resistant materials. They are intended to stay on during use to increase clamp grip and help prevent scratches during installation. STEP 2 Make sure the heater is cool and shut off or disconnect the gas source prior to installation. Locate the gas control knob on your patio heater. As shown in the diagram, position the middle clamp of your Heat reflector on the opposite side or approximately 180 degrees from the location of the gas control knob. Place the rim of the heater's overhead reflector into the middle clamp. Tighten the middle thumb screw until it is snug. Overtightening is not necessary and doing so may dent your heater. Verify that the middle clamp of your Heat reflector is installed on the opposite side of the gas control knob as shown or adjust the location as needed. Failure to follow these instructions can result in heater damage and personal injury. STEP 3 Gently bend either side of your Heat toward the heater until the rim of the patio heater enters the clamp on that side, then proceed by tightening the thumb screw until snug. Repeat the same thing for the other side and you're all done! Check the thumb screws often to make sure they have not loosened up and are still tightly fastened to the heater top. To remove your Heat just follow these same steps backwards. Loosen the side clamps first and then remove your Heat after untightening the middle clamp. Just remember, never handle your Heat while it's hot. Touching your Heat while hot can result in personal injury. STEP 4 Always make sure all three clamps are fastened securely before turning on your patio heater. When ready to use, safely connect the gas and ignite your heater. Keep in mind that your heater will now deliver much more heat than it did before. Proceed with caution and do not stand or sit too close until you know how it performs. It may be best to start off with low heat at first to make sure you do not overdo it. Slowly increase the heat until you're comfortable. Please remember to remove your Heat when not in use and do not have it installed in windy conditions above 5 miles per hour. If a heater is not properly secured there is a heightened risk of tipping. Made a huge difference on my patio. Focuses heat right in front of heater. Tried with and without shield. I can cut temperature to low and get better results than without it on high. Pricey but works. I have tried a cheaper 3 panel model that worked but didn't last one season. This one is durable.

I was impressed by this heat reflector when viewing on Amazon, in spite of the negative single review, so I took a chance. It came nicely packed, and shipped in a larger Amazon flat-style box. Not only was the price point lower, but upon receipt I am even more impressed. This is a high quality reflector made of durable polished heavy gage material that has a 1/2 inch folded edge for safety, no sharp exposed metal. The mounting hardware is of the same high quality and the mounting thumb screws have silicone rubber tips to firmly grab your reflector shade on the heater, it even came with an tools to mount the brackets onto the shield. I put the three clamp brackets on and had the reflector mounted on my patio heater in five minutes. It directs the heat where you want it. Buy this one and be happy. ... show more

    • Great reflector with quality issues.
This reflector works great but the only problem I had with it is when trying to insert the bolts the holes were drilled too small and I had to drill them out to a slightly bigger size it wasn't a huge deal but if I didn't have my impact driver and drills I don't know how I would've solved that problem. Overall it's definitely something I don't regret buying now my heat isn't wasted. ... show more

Bought this to attach to our new patio heater. Tried the heater without it and the heater did good. But there was a big difference after we attached this heat director. This is a good product. It does direct the heat in one direction. It’s easy to take on and off. I did notice that it makes the top of my heater lopsided. I am not if it’s because of its weight after it’s hot or what. Also you cannot use the cover with this thing attached. It’s fairly simple to take on and off. ... show more

I bought this to convert for used as a deck railing protector, to keep my trex drink rail from melting behind the grill. We will have to see how well it performs, and I assume I will still need to keep a gap between my grill and the railing, but it looks good - like it was meant for this use. I just used an automatic center punch to mark new holes exactly in the center of the sheet. then I drilled the marks out with new holes in the middle and mounted the brackets there instead of near top. If you have a drink rail style (flat rail Top) the brackets fit perfectly onto the drink rail and the protectors keep it from marring it. ... show more

    • Looks nicer than the other options, but...
The item overall is really effective at shielding whatever's behind the shield from heat. It's incredible how good a job it does at that. I'm not really sure how much of that shielded heat is reflected forward, but for my uses (which is protecting what's behind the heater), it's amazing. It also looks way better in my opinion than the other options which come in (typically three) pieces. This single sheet looks slick. Deduction of one star: The sheet itself was damaged in transit - one of the sides is dented and has a long crease, which does ruin the look of the thing a little bit. Half star removed. The other half star is removed because of the mounting hardware. It _looks_ like the three little mounts are supposed to be tapped (meaning they are threaded) for the mounting screws. Two of the three mounts' holes were untapped and WAY too small for the screws to go through. Thank goodness I have a large/heavy vice, which I used to drill larger holes for the screws (they don't need to be tapped since the kit comes with nuts to hold the mounts in place). Second half star removed. Add a few minutes of install time, but once it's done, it's very nice. ... show more
