I had to drill out the holes in the brackets to allow for the bolts to go through, in order to fasten the shield to the heater cover. This shields work well at both blocking any wind and preventing the burner from being blown out as well as focusing the heat in one direction. The way this was designed could use some help. The bottom corners of the heat shield are folded over so there are no sharp edges but they really should be rounded off for safety. The corners could still cut someone’s head. I bought this to convert for used as a deck railing protector, to keep my trex drink rail from melting behind the grill. We will have to see how well it performs, and I assume I will still need to keep a gap between my grill and the railing, but it looks good - like it was meant for this use. I just used an automatic center punch to mark new holes exactly in the center of the sheet. then I drilled the marks out with new holes in the middle and mounted the brackets there instead of near top. If you have a drink rail style (flat rail Top) the brackets fit perfectly onto the drink rail and the protectors keep it from marring it. ... show more
