My neighbor recently purchased a mini chainsaw. It was so cute and I thought it was a great idea. My husband has a full sized chainsaw. Could I use it? Probably, but i don’t need full-sized. So of course, time to check it out on Amazon. The neighbors was only 4” (she also paid $150, it wasn’t assembled, and no extra chain or battery!), it seemed too small, so I was checking out the 6” versions, comparing prices and included items. This seemed to be the best price, best rating and most extras. It arrived the next day (yay Amazon!!), and I started charging the battery immediately. I was SO excited to use it. The only bad thing was that first charge took so long… like waiting for water to boil. Though it did cut through smaller sizes of branches and twigs, it worked better on the thicker pieces. That’s fine for me, I have cutters for the smaller bits anyway. The battery lasted longer than I expected, too! I cut down a large butterfly bush, trimmed a too tall rhododendron, cut a few branches off a dogwood tree, pruned some rose of Sharon and a climbing hydrangea. Battery was still going! Didn’t even need the second battery which I had charged, just in case. I am SO pleased with this! It will get another workout next weekend. What a great investment! We oiled it with bar and chain oil before and after use to be sure it continues to provide great results. I definitely recommend. ... show more

This small chainsaw works great. I am a small 71 year old woman who, for health reasons, had let certain areas of my garden grow over with small shrubs and trees. With this saw I can cut them all. No locking, safety features perfect. It came with safety glasses but I used my own, it comes with gloves and I used those as well as some work gloves I have. The included gloves are still like new. I had to wait for the rainy and windy season to end before I got started, and now it’s too hot in Louisiana to finish, but I am well on my way and cannot wait to get started again. I highly recommend this chain saw for trimming / and light cutting. The design and flexibility is excellent and extremely user friendly. I had concerns about battery life, but i find that it sufficient and would not want to sacrifice increased weight for extended battery life. Most of all the Customer Service is awesome. I had a slight issue with the unit and the Customer Service team reacted quickly to resolve help resolve the issue and an extremely professional manner. They have exceeded my expectations. I lost a lot of limbs to a recent ice storm. This mini chainsaw was extremely useful in cutting up the debris. I bought a second one for use at the family farm. It is lightweight and makes short work of cutting off small limbs from the trunk of larger limbs and trees. I've used it to cut a 10 inch diameter log - you just have to be willing to cut around the limb. Make sure you wear eye protection. The glasses in the case are flimsy and I use my own safety glasses. The gloves are useless for the purpose. The saw will bind sometimes in the cut and getting the blade out will loosen the blade. Tools come with the chainsaw to loosen the nut to tighten the chain. So, carry the wrench with you as I adjust tightness every 20 min or so. ... show more

My son came to visit and was able to use it to trim some of our tree branches and brush easier than a heavier chainsaw. The product comes with an empty oil bottle so you may want to make sure you purchase yr own bar oil. You could use a medicine syringe to fill the bottle. I ordered this little chainsaw and hoped for the best. And that is what I got. Easy to use, lightweight and delivers as promised. I have used it multiple times since receiving it and it works like a charm saving so much time and effort in the gardens. Nice clean cuts. Takes a little practice to find the perfect way to make the cuts, but that is the same with any new product you are using. I have cleared an area surrounding a tree that will need to be taken down. Great little unit! I'm pleased. I use it vs breaking out my gas powered chain saw on the small stuff. I use it to saw up smaller branches for camp fire wood that I can get from downed limbs. Also for trimming bushes and trees, it is very handy. POINTS TO MAKE: Get yourself some chainsaw bar oil and pour some into a condiment bottle, (for ketchup/mustard). Oil the chain guide groove occasionally. This will absolutely be of long term benefit. Look into how to sharpen the chain, buy a file, and do so. Keep the chain at the right tension, vs letting it run slack. Clean it occasionally in the nooks and crannies. I give 4 stars only because the instructions do leave something to be desired. Oiling for instance isn't even mentioned, just inferred by the inclusion of a micro-bottle. The 'extras' tossed in with the unit are really cheap. They tossed them in, I tossed them out, lol. Worked great for the first month I had it, did not do an excessive amount of work with it and the motor lost all its power. The chain still moves but as soon as you apply it to wood, it stops, will not cut anything anymore...waste of money and stopped working just after I could return it😖...Updated: After posting review, cst svc reached out to me and offered to send a new saw. Happy to say thus far the saw is working great, very handy and does what it's supposed to! Excellent customer service in standing behind their product!! Thanks! ... show more
