  • Exceeded expectations - an excellent investment!
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Obsidian Black
I am a huge fan of Miele products and the C3 Kona vacuum cleaner is no exception. This is a high-end, powerful vacuum that is built to last. The suction power is impressive and it does a great job of picking up dirt and debris from all surfaces, including carpets and hardwood floors. The adjustable settings make it easy to switch between cleaning tasks and the attachments are well-designed and easy to use. For those of you debating between the models offered in the C3 line - Marin vs Calima vs Cat & Dog vs Kona - I chose Kona as I mainly use clean hardwood floors, have a small dog (different shedding than a larger long-haired dog), and care primarily about the HEPA filter function. Some features to highlight: - HEPA Filter: My favorite feature of the C3 Kona is its HEPA filter, which does an excellent job of trapping allergens and other microscopic particles. You can immediately tell when you’re using it that the hot air coming out of the vacuum is clean filtered air. It doesn’t have that “vacuum exhaust” smell that conventional vacuums have while cleaning. This is a great feature for anyone with family members who have allergies or asthma. I used to vacuum only when my household allergy sufferers were out of the house; now I can vacuum anytime, even when they’re in the house. It also has a unique AirClean sealed system that captures over 99.9% of all lung-damaging particles. Great news for all of us who have spent more time at home in the past few years and care about indoor air quality. - Suction Power: Thanks to the powerful 1200-watt Vortex Motor, there’s a visible difference between my previous vacuums (Dyson V8 Handheld, Dyson Animal ball, Shark upright) in picking up dust. The vacuum head gently slides over the floor and swiftly captures all particles big or small in one swipe. No more going over the same spot. It’s amazing. It also has a 6-stage variable speed control, which allows you to adjust the suction power to suit the task at hand. - Low Sound: Another huge plus is the quieter sound level. My baby napping in the next door room doesn’t awaken to my vacuuming. - Built-in Storage: This was a big question for us prior to purchase. Do we pay the extra $$ for a built-in storage for heads? Is it really worth it? The answer is yes. Such a game-changer to quickly change between your vacuum heads as you’re cleaning around the house. Fewer skipped over areas (think ledges that need the thin nozzle, or sofas that need the upholstery attachment) and no lost parts. - Maneuverability: The body is lightweight and moves around so smoothly on all types of surfaces including hardwood, tiled flooring, rugs, etc. There’s a bumper on the exterior that prevents from denting your furniture if you do bump into them. The telescopic wand is the best I’ve seen among other highest-end vacuum brands. I am no longer straining after 30 minutes of cleaning. - Maintenance: Super easy maintenance with simple, straightforward instructions for cleaning and replacing filters. After discovering how hygienic Miele’s dust bags are, I can’t go back to other “bag-less” vacuums. Those are nice for the first two uses and then you realize you constantly have a vacuum that’s spilling dust back into your house every time you move it. Overall, I highly recommend the Miele C3 Kona vacuum cleaner to anyone in the market for a high-quality, powerful and durable vacuum. It is a bit on the pricey side, but it is well worth the investment in my opinion. ... show more

  • IMPRESSED!
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Obsidian Black
I've had a Kenmore progressive vacuum since 2003, it came with all the bells and whistles and lasted more than 20 years before the extension wand connectors needed replaced. I decided it was time to move on with having a hard time finding new parts/OEM bags and not wanting to throw more money at it, did about a month's time of research and settled on a Sebo or Miele. What sold me on the Miele was the wider cleaning head and the floor tool that comes with this particular Miele model. I despise carpet and unfortunately have a newly purchased home with rooms full of new carpet, I also have a pet so I clean twice a week. I plan on eventually replacing the flooring with laminate which is why I wanted the floor tool that is included with this model. Compared to the Kenmore, the dirt ALL goes into the bag with the Miele. I think the seal area on the Kenmore was worn out so I would have to take it out in the garage occasionally and blow it with my air compressor. So far I've only had one bag change and the Miele is nice and clean inside. Everything is working great, I love all the included accessory tools and I never thought I would use the lower power settings but I've grown to love having that option especially cleaning off my computer desk. One huge thing I miss from the Kenmore is being able to turn on/off the entire vacuum from the wand. I am still getting used to this feature missing. But I will say I love the power this thing has and quieter motor, I've had it suck up the edge of a rug that I was cleaning and had to stand on it to get the job done. I've even used it to clean out my SUV! ... show more

  • Works great

Very nice vacuum works very well. The wand was heavier than I thought. Its easy to use. But the head swifles back and forth . Gets under chairs. And under the bed.

  • Not worth it
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Obsidian Black
Love the suction, and the parquet twister attachment does a great job on my hard floors. But in the first 18 months of use, three different parts have broken, for a total repair bill of $200. First the plastic piece you use to detach the power-head broke. I fixed that under warranty, but because I ordered it on Amazon my nearest dealer still charged for labor. A year later, the part that keeps the wand from telescoping broke, and today the parquet twister broke in half. I'm gentle on things, and using it all correctly. I'm also willing to pay more for quality, but I don't feel like that's the case with this model. My last canister vacuum, a mid-level Kenmore, was far more durable. Update: I tried contacting Miele per their invitation in response to my review. Nobody responded. Now, 4 hours after purchasing the vacuum, it is having major electrical problems and turns on and off intermittently. I've spent $1000 for the vacuum plus several hundred to repeatedly replace parts, and now I need a new vacuum. I don't understand why Miele has such a reputation for quality. I'd have been better off buying a cheap vacuum and replacing it after 4 years. ... show more

  • Best vacuum I've ever had.
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Obsidian Black
I mostly have hardwood floors. I bought the Kona version. I'm extremely happy with this vacuum. You can easily turn the beater brush off and on on the handle. I like the handle, it's very comfortable. The length of the handle portion is very adjustable so it's good for a variety of heights. But you can also reach quite far away with the suction if you need to. The suction is very strong. I vacuum my hardwoods and wool rugs without the beater brush and it does a great job. I do have a no shoes house so take that for what it's worth. My favorite part is that the tools are all stored on board. If I'm vacuuming and my furniture needs a vacuum, I just reach down and grab the tool. I don't have to think about where on earth I put that stupid upholstery brush, or walk to wherever I've stored it. It's available immediately. It came with the parquet twister, and that is not stored on board. It's very maneuverable. I have no issues navigating around table legs or other obstacles. I like the bumper around the vacuum body, the caster wheels are also fantastic. I do have one complaint. Occasionally the connection between the hose and the bag isn't perfect so debris gets sucked into the vacuum body and gets stuck in the filter. If it gets plugged there is an indicator on top of the vacuum that tells you whether and to what degree it's clogged. So you know if there is a clog even if there's only a small one. It's also very quiet. Not quite quiet enough to have a conversation. Pretty close though. Definitely not a screamer. I've had a lot of different vacuums over the years. Cheap ones, expensive ones, Dysons. This is the best by far. The most expensive. Also the best. Using this vacuum I understand where my money went. My partner also loves this vacuum, which is worth a bit extra right there. ... show more

  • Strong but defective vacuum
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Obsidian Black
Powerful, quiet, versatile. Probably will not use the large beater brush head a lot but it will get some use down in our rec room where we have an old nylon rug that could use a deep cleaning. Upstairs where we have mostly laminate and area rugs I don't use that attachment. I tried the parquet twister on the floors and that's fine but I have so many low pile area rugs that are difficult to vacuum with that attachment that I ended up ordering another attachment that has a retractable brush that I can use on all of my laminate and area rugs without issue. The extra attachment was overpriced I thought but it works pretty well and except for the fact that it's kind of flimsy, there isn't much to it and it comes off of the extension on the hose when I try to use it under something, it's fairly easy to vacuum with. Would I buy the Miele C3 Kona again? Yes, in a heartbeat. One other plus is that the vacuum itself is light enough I can easily transport it downstairs if I need to as well as bring it back up the stairs. I do still use my shark stick vacuum for quick clean ups in between my weekly deep cleaning with the Miele. By the way, the upholstery attachment is amazing. I don't think my furniture has ever been this clean! PROBLEM CAME UP AFTER A FEW MONTHS: Discovered the dust bag full light did not work & result was a dust bag "blew up" inside the vacuum, somehow the bag holder was damaged & I had to order a replacement for it. Still, in new bags the round blue seal DOES NOT stay shut so I am having to keep the hose attached to the vacuum all the time now for fear dust will get blown all over my house. Complicates storage. I now wish I had never purchased it. A whole lotta money for a defective product. ... show more

  • Power and quality are top of the line
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Obsidian Black
Miele makes an amazing vacuum. I have been very pleased with the purchase. Although, the cost was higher than I wanted to pay, I am still pleased that I paid what I did. I like the swivel ability of the power nozzle, as well as the control device at the top of the pipe. It is easy to cut the power to the nozzle when necessary. The power nozzle also has a variable speed control on the top of the nozzle which makes it very easy to switch height levels for area rugs. I have several, so it is a great feature for me. The suction is better than any other vacuum I have purchased. I especially like that about the Miele C3 Kona. Some have complained about the canister turning over when pulling it, but I have not experienced that aspect. I especially like the automatic cord release and return. I vacuumed the stairs and found that it was much easier than my previous canister vacuum. The hose is long enough to extend half way down the stairs. I then moved the vacuum to the middle of the stair and completed vacuuming the rest of the stairs. The weight of the canister and the hose/power nozzle was easy to manipulate on the stair. However, it might be a problem for someone that is lacking strength and smaller in stature. I am a 6'4" male. Another feature I especially like is the compartment that holds the utensils that accompany the vacuum. It is convenient to have them near you when you are vacuuming. I don't leave them in one room as I move to another. I just replaced them back into the compartment where they fit well. I can't really fault this vacuum, and I have used other canisters and uprights, and this is far better than any others I have used. Costly but worth it! ... show more

  • Best sweeper I’ve owned!
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Obsidian Black
I was hesitant to buy this because of the price but so glad I did. Cleans well. The Head fits into tight areas unlike upright vacuums so I can get hard to reach spaces better. It’s great for doing to stairs- with a click of the button the one piece comes off and I can use just the hose or add an attachment. My blinds and window sills stay cleaner now because this is easy to use in the and the same with my balances. The filter is fabulous as this is the first vacuum I have had that leaves no bad air behind after using it even after there is dirt and dog dander in the bag. I found it a little confusing figuring out which settings to use but once I did it really isn’t difficult. There is an off/on switch on the base of the unit and another for the handle/head so it’s easy to go between hard floors and rugs and if I don’t do it right the handle shits off automatically so I don’t suck up my throw rig into the sweeper Luke most vacuums do. Good purchase. I’d buy again in a heartbeat and expect to have this a long time. ... show more
