This blend is fantastic especially for people that are having issues controlling Nitrate and Phosphate in tiny salt water tanks like me. First let me tell you that this blend smell like rotten eggs, you heard that right it smell like rotten eggs meaning that this bottle contain real beneficial bacteria. I never had problems with this, First let me tell you, why love this product. 1) Help to keep the Nitrate and Phosphate down. 2) You can run a full cycle in 1 MONTH. Meaning that you can put corals in your tank instead of waiting a year. 3) Fish seems to be more active after I using the blend 4) REAL BACTERIA 5) Better than other product that induce full cycle Tips "I think this is the most important part of my review 1) For salt water aquariums you need to double the dose of bacteria, for my first dose I had to add 40 ml for my 20 gallon tank 2) Water will get cloudy for 1 to 1 1/2 days. "Don't panic this is normal, It happened to me once" 3) Turn off your skimmer off for 2 days after the application. If you leave the skimmer on, it will removed the bacteria out for your tank. 4) Turn off your UV filter system for 2 days. 5) When you do water changes "and I will recommend this for salt water aquarium", you need to start the application from week one again. ... show more

I'm going to mirror the goods reviews. I bought this stuff to help with my tank maintenance. I read the reviews but I didn't know it would work this great. First let me confirm that this stuff smells absolutely horrible. I keep it in a cooler across the backyard by the fence. It has a terrible smell. With that said, I used it as directed on the bottle and my tank started to clear up and clean up! Real talk, my fish even seems happier and healthier since I started using this stuff about a month ago. I'm going to keep using it and I'm going to keep buying it. My son tries everything on the market in his aquarium and recommends to me what works. Microbe-Lift Special Blend is the best I've ever used in my fresh water aquarium. It keeps my water clear, controls nitrate and nitrite levels and breaks down the organic matter in the gravel. I started using this January 2023 and when I suction my gravel for a water change (about every 2 months), it's cleaner than it's ever been. I started with the initial recommendationed dosage on the bottle, then I add 10 ml a week. Whoever wrote that they went through 2 bottles in couple of months overdosed their tank. No wonder their fish died! A 16 oz bottle should last at least a year if used correctly. I have a planted 38 gallon aquarium and diffuse C02 into the water. I have noticed that Microbe-Lift also gives my plants boost. Good stuff!! I highly recommend it, and encourage users to follow the directions on the bottle. I had almost completely removed all my dirty sand and old live rock from my 60 gallon tank and replaced with new sand and cleaned live rock while still keeping the present 7 saltwater fish and invertebrates in my tank. 2 months now after going through a period of hair algae the live rock is getting cleaner. Have not experienced ammonia or nitrite and my fish and invertebrates are OK. My Nitrate levels are high and phos level is about .50 but all critters are tolerating. I am in the once every two weeks maintenance .My Tank is now very clear, no algae. 4 months now. Added caution to this my 2nd bottle I purchased did not come in a box which contains the instructions for use, so if this is the case with you return it for one that is in the box. It is useless unless you have the instructions for use. I suspect that the item I received was maybe a return without a box. Not good Amazon. ... show more
