I dose twice a week in my 90gal reef tank with a 10 gal sump. I have seen some great results thus far. I was looking for something like this so that I could condense some things down so I wasn't having to dose so many different things and bottles of "stuff"...lol. I already have multiple types of food/plankton and what not that I alternate days with so its nice to condense some things into one or two doses a week.

My first experience with Microbe-Lift was over 15 years ago when I used Microbe-Lift PL to treat a new koi pond. It eventually stabilized and I have since moved on. When I saw this supplement for reef tanks, I thought it would definitely be worth a try. I have only been dosing two part supplements and not paying too much attention to my bio-cube. I started supplementing the two part calcium with this. And while I can't say it has made a huge impact, it has not hurt any corals or fish. I am also not sure if there is a correlation, but a month or two after starting with this supplement, I think I had a mass coral spawning event. The tank was very clouded and I moved the fish to another tank overnight. The next morning, there appeared to be a blanket of calcium (white powder) all over the tank. The corals were open and have continued to thrive since then. Strange coincidence. Or maybe not. I continue to regularly add this supplement.

I have been using this periodically, and tbh im not sure if it has even been working. I used it in my 75 gallon when I wasn't using my normal routine of supplements. Truth is that since its weekly, im not sure the effectiveness of the product, but it did not kill or harm any corals. That's the most important part to me, is that it didnt damage anything. I would recommend this for smaller aquariums or nano setups.

Right now, I'm giving this 4 stars as a place holder to maintain its average reviewed quality. I requested this as a new member of the Amazon Vine program, because I am getting ready to start my first salt water tank. The terms and conditions and all made it seem like requested items could take a long time, so while I will plant the tank, and fertilize with this product, it's not quite fully setup, and I'm waiting for some of its inhabitants. Will update in a month or so with photos, then hopefully in 3 months or so to show off any growth/vibrancy improvement from the baby stages. I don't have another tank to compare it to using a different (or no) fertilizer, but this is a small setup which will not be densely populated, so it will be treated using the bi-weekly suggested method instead of daily.

I like the Microbe-Lift brand and have used some of their other products in the past with good success. I appreciate the sample to test and review. This reef supplement has a little red tint to it. It has a water like consistency and mixes readily. It can be used with a dosing pump for more accurate applications. The recommended 14-28ml per 50 gallons is a good broad range to dose. If you have water testing equipment then you can dial it in to what your specific tank needs at that time. For just a quick and easy approach the recommended minimum should give you visible results after a couple of weeks. It might not be optimal but you will likely see your inhabitants thriving more. Of course optimal dosing and grow levels are different than maintenance levels that you want to restrict growth. A thriving reef tank usually means consistent pruning and cutting back the new growth. I don't think this product is really meant for that level of water chemistry controlling. This is more for the low maintenance tank where you are keeping more hardy animals and want to give a "multivitamin" to keep things healthier. For that purpose it works very good. So far happy with the results in my 30 gal cube. (ELOS, EcoTech Marine, Aqua Illumination, Neptune APEX, Red Sea). 5 stars.
