I am really excited using this pole cover brace. I have always used a pump to get rain water off my winter cover. And this is a game changer when it is time to open the pool because I can just hose off all debris off before taking the cover off so debris can not get into the clean pool water. I had used a PVC pipe set up to keep my boat cover supported, but it did not distribute the load properly. This has a nice wide round surface at the top and should work great. It is a sturdy aluminum frame and very adjustable in height, and doesn't look like it has any spots that could rust.

I received this Metal Pool Cover Support Pole in exchange for my honest review as part of the Amazon Vine program. I've had a pool for more than ten years - first an in-ground pool, and now an above-ground pool at this house. I'm going to admit that I'm not exactly the world's greatest pool owner. Every spring, I seem to open a pool that has somehow turned into a pond. This year, I'm trying something different and putting more effort into closing the pool properly so hopefully opening it in the spring is a little less of an adventure. That has resulted in quite a few pool-closing upgrades. Fortunately/unfortunately, the weather is staying warmer than expected. It's looking like our swimming season may be extended a few more weeks, so I haven't actually had a chance to use this support pole yet. This review is based on first impressions and the design/features only. What I like about this pole is the flexibility of the design. The height is adjustable, and the support can be configured for different pool shapes. For a round pool, it can be used as a centered support, while the design can also be configured with two supports for a rectangular pool. We've used inner tubes under our pool cover in the past, but they've eventually deflated. Having a rigid support option instead is appealing to me because I won't have to rely on something that can lose air over time. There is also a loop at the bottom of the tripod that I plan to use for attaching a weight. I'm hoping this will give me another option for helping keep the support where I want it, although I haven't tested this yet. There are also holes for securing the cover ropes, which gives me additional ways to set everything up. I'm looking forward to putting this to the test when I finally close the pool for the season. For now, I like the design and the options it gives me, but I can't comment on how well it performs until I've actually used it. If I run into any issues - or discover that it works better than expected - I'll update my review.

This is very helpful tbh. Last year I didn’t have any support under and from rain and snow the cover caved in and tore apart the cover. I was looking for support but it was too late. This pile keeps things tight and uplifted from the middle to keep the pool cover risen up. Very happy with this purchase

Too good to be true and it was the top portion broke and the metal rusted out within 2 days up, good thing amazon was swift issuing a refund but I think I'll stick to the old fashion pillow and even a plastic barrel to do the pool closing, I hope it works for others.

This is a great alternative to pool pillows or maybe in addition to them for closing the pool this winter. It is stout and durably made and should handle the weight of the cover with ease. The only negative I have is that the feet are a little too small for me to feel safe using it on our above ground pool liner with sand bottom underneath it. We have some thick rubber mats that we are going to use under the feet for extra protection under the whole base of this support pole. That way if we get a lot of snow, any pressure will go onto the thick rubber mat and not force it through the pool liner which wouldn't be a good thing. I tend to weigh on the side of caution because of the high cost of replacement pool liners these days. Otherwise, this is a brilliant idea, and I am very impressed with the design (other than the plastic feet). It is made from stout stainless-steel which should not rust through the winter with the water-resistant qualities of stainless-steel. The other parts are plastic which should also hold up well to the freezing of the water. For $53, I think it is a great value for the money and a great addition to our pool closing arsenal of tools. It is simple to assemble and use. The 4 x 16-feet ropes make it simple and quick to tie down and hold it securely in place. It has an adjustable top and if you need a smaller height pole, you can leave a section or two out of it if desired to get the right height. This is a nice and clean look for closing the pool and I am excited to have it this year. This is a must have item for pool owners closing the pool for winter, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!
