The media could not be loaded. Metal Detector - ***** I had an excellent opportunity to use this new metal detector while we took a family vacation to the beach. Upon opening the package, I found that the device was very simple and straight forward to put together and required little instruction. All of the parts seemed very flexible for making adjustments to the length of the armature for my height and hand to forearm length. The cam locks were simple to use to set and should not need to be adjusted much after the initial set up. The instructions were straightforward to explaining all of the different search functions and modes but became more understandable when actually turning on the device and practicing what the effects of each mode would achieve based on the different metals it was responding to when testing it. Each metal type would give a unique audible sound and a corresponding visual on-screen material symbol. The instructions were fairly brief but sufficient to get you started. Once the item was turned on, it became very intuitive, and I was off and exploring very quickly. There were a few features that I have not yet explored like the “Memory” feature and a few others but think that it would be helpful if there was a video link from the manufacturer that one could go to that could better explain each feature. When I started to use the device, I noticed that it would give a false reaction if I moved it too fast – almost like a “tilt” feature. I also found that keeping the detector head close and parallel to the ground helped and that if I moved with slow and methodical oscillating path it reacted better. It seemed to be the most sensitive to metals nearer to the “heel” of the detector head where it attached to the armature connection. When I did come across an item, the “Pinpoint” feature was really nice to locate the item but noticed that when there was no item that the “Pinpoint” feature would generate audible sensing even when there was nothing there. I am not sure if that is because I am still learning about the device and could be that with time, I could develop a better understanding of how to apply it. The visual / graphic “Depth scale” was somewhat helpful but not sure how accurate it was without further testing but none the less was a benefit to aid in getting a better idea of finding unseen items. I really liked the lightweight headphones, and the tones were very clear and distinctive. I had hoped that I would find several items at the beach but after the test run for a few days and several trips up and down the beach both in dry areas as well as near the water, I was only able to locate a bobby pin and a bottle cap. I think that I might have been moving too fast early on and if I had slowed down, I might have come across more items. I came across another individual who had a more complex metal detector who said that he had found several precious items over the years of his ownership of it but feel that the device that I was using was just as suitable to find the same items as he did. For the level of service that this device provides, I feel that this item is very good for beginners as well as weekend hobbyist looking for a great time. The only real difference between this device and more expensive ones is probably the degree of sensitivity of locating item at greater depths perhaps. I had a good time and would recommend this to anyone.

The media could not be loaded. Love this metal detector! Super easy to use. It was very easy to put together and take apart. It also comes with a storage bag and a shovel. It has lots of different modes and the headphones are very comfortable. Very good quality also!

The media could not be loaded. After doing lots of review reads and looking at all the different options i picked this one because it looks like it is feature packed for the price. First impressions: I was surprised it came in such a small box, was not expecting that and to be honest was kind of dissapointed because i knew it had to be assembled. But the assembly part was very easy and the instructions were clear. Just make sure you put the rubber grommets inside the disc connection part so it helps hold the detector disc at the desired angle. The build quality is good with a strong plastic and metal pole assembly and everything fit into place just fine. The biggest issue i had was opening the battery enclosure as the sliding door would not slide without using a tool, but im thinking that was because it was brand new and had not been worn in. The included shovel does work for small digs which is guess is to be expected. after installing the batteries and turning it on i was pleased to see a very clear screen and numerous options with regards to what type of metal you are trying to detect. The manual is very clear and describes what each icon means and what the options are and the sound level can be changed to your comfort level which was nice seeing as i wasnt always going to use the included headphones which by the way are what you would expect from an included item. They do the job but nothing to write home about. I took the detector out on the back part of my property which has a small seasonal creek and tried it there, found various objects but was also happy to see it works in water just as well as land as advertised. The difference in tones for different metals is often very clear so that was helpful when skipping over "Iron" beeps, but there were occasions where it reported the metal to be something it wasnt. (found enough rusty nails already). Overall i would say for the price this is a great product, it includes everything that you would need and is sturdy enough to take hiking. I did knock it around a bit with the hidden rocks in the creek bed but it stood up to the challenge. Its winter here right now but come summer i plan on using it in the mountains of Northern California to find my fortune.
