As a half price alternative to the Concept 2, I feel that it matches the more expensive rower on almost every point and in some ways improves on it. The rower has excellent resistance adjustments that take if from fairly easy to quite difficult, and of course rowing faster raises the difficulty. It took me about 20 minutes to put together, you simply bolt together a few parts to make the two major assemblies. In fact, getting it free from the excellent packing takes longer than assembly. It splits at the middle for easy storage, and is rock solid after reassembly. If you have used a Concept 2 rower, this is practically a clone with no downgrade in sturdiness and the rowing feel is almost identical. In fact, the seat is much more comfortable. The only real downgrade from the Concept 2 is the display panel, but since I use the EXR app exclusively with my workouts that is not an issue for me. Links up seamlessly with your ipad or phone app through Bluetooth. I am not a light guy and the machine is rock solid, I have felt no slipping and it is steady under me no matter how hard I row. I feel like I got a great bargain on a quality piece of workout equipment.

*Edit* A year and many thousands of meters of rowing later, I still feel the same as the below review and am still very happy. * I've done Crossfit off and on for about 15 years now and rowing is one of my very favorite ways to exercise. Due to current life situations and location, we set up a garage gym at home and I was looking for a rower that would not break the bank but give me the same function I was used too. I had previously tried a smaller rower thinking the compact size would be nice, but it did not have enough length for me to use a full stroke. I'm only 5'8'' but with long arms and legs and can max the chain out on a Concept 2 when using a full stroke and rowing hard. This has the exact same reach where I am just shy of smacking the handle into the front bar at a full stroke rowing as hard as I can. This is perfect and if the Concept 2 fits you, this one will as well. In fact, nearly every part looks identical between the two. With two exceptions. The foot rest on the Merach is a much stiffer plastic that is a little harder to adjust and not very comfortable on the heel due to being a little too stiff and sharp. Not a deal breaker, but especially since I prefer to workout barefoot, less comfortable. And as others have mentioned, the monitor is different. It has all the functions, I would just greatly prefer to be able to lock the screen onto showing meters/time, or calories/time, etc. Instead, what it does is scroll back and forth through all the metrics every 5 seconds which is a bit annoying as it seems to be always showing whatever one I don't care about when I glance up at the screen. Again, not a deal breaker for stuff at home, I'm not trying to win anything that 5 seconds would make a difference for, but it is kind of annoying. If Merach offered upgraded foot rests and monitors, I would buy those and add to this machine. Even given those two less than ideal things, it is still a great machine and I am loving using it. It is a surprisingly solid for the price, and truly feels like all the parts came out of the same factory as the more expensive machines with the exception of the two things noted above. It only took a couple minutes to assemble with one person. And yes, you can stand it up to store just like a Concept 2 without taking it apart in the middle. I love rowing with this and am very happy with what I got for the price. I plan to use it for many years and would happily buy again. If you want a very solid rower for a pretty decent price, I would say go for this one with no hesitation.

I bought an inexpensive magnetic rower (Utryup) first, just to make sure I would like the exercise, and I did. Researching that unit, I couldn't help but notice what I've started calling the "C2 bros"...rowers who insist that anything other than the Concept2 is a complete waste of time and money. Now, I'm not remotely competitive, nor do I care at all about "splits" and "ergs." Just looking for a simple full-body workout. The Utryup does provide this, but couldn't help wondering how much better a "real" rower would feel. Most used C2s near me are a couple hundred more than the Merach. One actually came up for the same price as the Merach and I was seriously torn (turns out I needn't have been. Got snapped up within minutes, unsurprisingly). As good a reputation as they have, getting a used one still seems like a bit of a gamble. You don't know how well or badly they've been treated/maintained. A brand new "clone" sounded more and more appealing. I watched a ton of review videos, so I knew exactly what I was getting going in. All of them seemed impressed by the R50. Well, compared to the Utryup, this thing is a beast (in fact, I've named it "Beast"). But I mean that in a good way. Nothing about the construction feels cheap. I've never assembled a C2, but I can't imagine it being much different. Took about 30 minutes from unpacking to rowing, only because the instructions looked so simple that I only glanced at them and put the legs on wrong. Eight screws, all the same size. I've had phone cases that were more complicated. As all reviews mention, the monitor is abysmally bad compared to the PM5. But as I've mentioned, I couldn't care less about any of the information a monitor provides. The Bluetooth does connect painlessly, and that's important to me. I have yet to dive into the app to see if anything is worthwhile (just like I don't care about stats, I also don't care about virtual racing. Gamifying, on the other hand, I very much want. I have to see how well it connects to my Quest 3 for Holofit). (Update: Boo. Having trouble in Holofit. It sees the Merach but won't complete the connection. It's weird to me that the Utryup has better BT, but I guess this is where Merach skimped a little.) Rowing is smooth, quiet, and seems too easy. I put the damper up to 10 and still wasn't breaking a sweat (this is different from the Utryup, which definitely gets me sweating). I thought there was a problem, but different threads on Reddit suggest this is normal for air rowers. I felt like the first pull was heavy, but then after that I was just coasting on fan blade momentum. Wisdom seems to think a slower stroke is better for increased resistance. I'm also quite sure my form is terrible. I plan to work on both. I also plan to keep the Utryup. I'm sure it has almost no resale value and it's small and can get my heart rate up quickly for shorter sessions. I think the Merach will be much more enjoyable for longer sessions though. What it boils down to: If you have the money and really believe nothing beats a C2, get a C2 (but please try to avoid looking down your nose at people who don't have one. The C2 bros have done a great job turning me off buying one). If you're looking for something very, very, very similar that won't break the bank, you absolutely can't go wrong with the R50. UPDATE: I reached out to Merach over the Bluetooth issue. Sadly they were not able to fix it for me but they did issue a partial refund as compensation. Communication was a bit slow but still friendly and tried to be helpful.

Merach R11 Air Pro Rowing Machine for Home I give this 5 stars because it is perfect for my needs and the price was a steal. The resistance seems a bit weak, it is too much for me now, and on high I can only row for a short time... but, I feel like I will eventually outgrow it. Maybe in a year... When/if that day comes, I will experiment with adding weights to my arms and legs. It is LONG! 7'11" it is not tippy at all. The glide surface is not painted and shiny smooth so you do not need to worry about the seat chipping the paint away by wear. You cannot hear the chair slide at all, perfectly machined and zero wobble! ...and, the fan seems quieter than a window box fan. It is around 100lbs in the box so if you are not already strong, you will need help with it. The FedEx guy lifted it up and set it on my porch like it was a feather, he was showing off! Without a doubt, this is pro equipment! I have done a lot of research on rowers and this one shines above all others in current price, durability and function. The chain is a HUGE plus, the recoil is immediate, and no worries about a canvas strap wearing out and needing replacement. This is really the ticket, grab one while supplies remain available!

I am in love with this tower! It is easy to use and easy to put together. It will be a while before I get anywhere close to outgrowing the resistance. I think the resistance has a lot to offer. Especially with good form. This is a great workout and I used to run marathons. I am not sure how people find this noisy. It’s very quiet. Maybe I am used to treadmill noise? It shipped very quickly with no problems. As for space saving, not really. It is big! 8’! It will fold up but you will need 2 people. I use the app and it connects to my apple health app. I haven’t tried the rows on the app yet. Overall, for half the cost of the gym rower, I am not disappointed. I would suggest it to everyone.

This is my first rower , so I really researched them before purchase. This one really caught my eye because everyone said it was a clone to the C2. Based on pictures, it really seems to be. Setup and assembly was easy. Just click the 2 half together. Resistance seems good but I don't have anything to compare it to but I use it all the time. Having machines at home really increases your workout times because the hardest part about going to the gym is going to the gym. It's pretty easy to move around, not very heavy, just lift back and and roll it around. It's not load during use bit it does make powerful box fan sound. Seat is pretty comfortable, slides smooth down the rail. Although, just a tip remember to keep the rail clean . Anything that lands or falls on it will get smashed smeared across the rail and effect how fluid the slide fills. I don't the monitor but has a lip to put your phone on it. All in all I like it and feel good about the purchase. I have been using it for several months now , about 4 times a week , no issues at all. Doesn't take up alot of space. The resistance is adjustable from 1 to 10 , I keep it at 10 all the time, put it in front of the TV and zone out.

Easy set up. Well built rowing machine. As good as more expensive competition but half the price. Highly recommend. The display is weak but functional.

It is a nice and well built machine. Rows smoothly, fairly easy to put together. The only reason for four stars is that the screen is hard to see and it eats up batteries pretty fast. The blue tooth works well and with multiple apps.
