This rack comes with a water-resistant luggage protection bag, a cargo net, and two ratcheting straps. I liked the spacing of the bars on the bottom compared to others I saw. The metal is hardened steel and strong, the only weakness I saw was the screws used to fasten the three sections together. I used a 3/16” drill bit and drilled all the way through the tubes and then inserted 10-32 stainless steel bolts and nylon locking nuts in the four places that hold the three sections together. I then cut off any protruding bolt beyond the nut for a smooth surface. This made it much stronger. I also put silicone sealer in each tube before inserting them into each other to ensure water did not get inside the tubing. I am very happy with the completed assembly. I knocked off one star due to the small screws instead of bolts to hold the three sections together.

We use this for a long road trip from Wisconsin to Branson,Missouri. It was great! But more importantly the customer service for this product was amazing. When assembling the product, I accidentally damaged it myself. I contacted the company to purchase the parts that I had damaged and made them aware it was entirely my fault. But they sent me a whole new kit for free! They absolutely went above and beyond. This product is exactly what it says it is and performs great along with having fantastic customer service support. The only thing I might add is that it might be nice to have a hard box carrier rather than a bag sometimes, but that does not take away from this product.

UPDATE: I spoke with Daniel from customer service and he made sure to make things right! He gave me the option to replace or keep the rack for a partial refund. I opted to keep it since I’m able to refinish it myself! Thank you for your quick response and giving A + customer service! I received this rack already scratched and scuffed up. After one trip to the OBX it’s now rusted. The manufacturer does have direction in the box on how to “rust proof” which involves buying a can of plastic dip. I shouldn’t have to rust proof anything, it should be rust proof straight from the manufacturer. I’m giving it three stars because the luggage bag is actually decent.

Product looks identical to the $700 Yakima roof basket at a fraction of the cost. Build quality is pretty good, but I would of preferred a better way to fasten it together. The screws went in fine but were short wood screws, would of rather seen it built with proper machine screws. The rubber washers provided were a joke and came off when I was tightening it all together. Mounting was my biggest issue, I measured my roof rack and it was well within the dimensions but my rails are adjustable, and didn't line up with the rails of the basket so actually attaching it to my car was a problem due to the hardware provided not being able to tighten down enough. I fixed the issue with some a washer stack going "Rubber- metal- rubber" to give it an extra quarter inch of tightening ability to make sure it was secure. Overall I'd recommend it if your looking for a cheaper alternative to the more expensive brands. The waterproof bag is great! Install was easy once I got the extra hard ward for like 15 bucks at local hardware store. 4/5 stars just because I needed the extra hardware due to my roof rails not being adjustable.

We received the meefar bag and cargo basket and used it when we went camping last month and it was amazing. One of the pieces we received for the cargo basket was missing the silver screw liner for the screw to attach too so I reached out to the company and they were terrific to work with. Our zipper on our bag ended up coming off the track so they actually sent us a brand new one as well which was awesome! We will absolutely buy this again thanks to their customer service. Highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. Update: The company responded immediately and sent us a new bag for our carrier in a timely fashion for our next trip. As it turned out, we had too many items to fit so we needed up getting a small U-Haul trailer. We’re about to embark again (this time from CO to SE USA - it’s a long story) and will definitely be using the rooftop bag this time, as we will be leaving some things behind. So we’ll see how it performs. Hoping it holds up! Original review: We took our MeeFar across the Rockies twice. The first trip was in snow and rain in April and it did amazingly well. Nothing got wet or ruined. Every time we passed another vehicle with one we felt like we were part of an “in the know” group of travelers. But then we drove back in July. And the wind ripped it to shreds. It pulled off one the tie-downs from its seams. The bag was absolutely peppered with holes, and then contents inside the bag were, too. It was a HUGE mess in there. What happened? Why did the bag rip in so many places? I have no idea. The weather was actually better on the second trip. In sum, the bag performed great once, and that was it. Would love a new bag. I’d give it another try. Will update my review if the company reaches out with a replacement. Otherwise I might suggest a hard-sided carrier. We had a lot of hopes and it was a big investment for only one trip.
