My wife must remain in bed, on her back 24-7, and we've tried everything you can imagine to help keep her back from developing heat rash and the beginnings of pressure sores. Air mattresses, egg crate foam, mattress pad with "cool" pockets... all were marginally success, but these sheep skins fixed everything. I was concerned it would be hot and cause her back to sweat and become useless.... nope... it's magic... comfortable for her (I got the large one) and her back/butt has almost returned to the normal color, and not that red angry look. I recommend it highly for the bed bound patient. I haven't washed it yet, so can't comment on how it will wash/dry. ... show more

What prompted me to buy this in the first place was being so tired one night I just fell on my bed and pulled my sheepskin coat over me. I was warm and toasty all night. That got me thinking I should get a real sheepskin to sleep under so I ordered this one but sleep on it instead of under it. I feel like a new baby again. The Medical Sheepskin Pelt - Double Medium is one of the best purchases I have ever made on Amazon! I have leather furniture in my living-room and leather-tech seats in my car. I live in Tucson AZ and leather can be either too hot or cold to sit on any time of year. Sitting on a sheepskin pelt is comfortable year-round. I will purchase more Medical Sheepskin Pelts for the rear seat of my car for my passenger's comfort. The website photos does not due it justice; it is super soft, evenly trimmed and luxurious. I was stunned at how nice this sheepskin is. My mom had a stroke and is bedfast. I bought this to put under her back to help fend off bedsores on her shoulders and back. This was so nice i am going to get another one to put under her feet as well!!! It is sooooo silky feeling. UPDATE: Bought the other one for her feet and was just as nice. Helps keep her feet warm which is an almost impossible thing to do. LOL ... show more
