I bought this hard drive for my security cameras. I love it! I had never seen a 4TB for the price of this one and was very nervous. I'm glad I took that chance. It took a little bit to connect it to my camera's drive. But it works well! I can store so much more footage.

As my title says. This is a great price for a 4TB hard drive. Upon receiving the item, I could tell that the hard drive had been refurbished. The original sticker for details about the drive had been covered over by a new sticker. But for the price that I paid, and the specs of the hard drive. Easy install and setup. Only complaint is it did not come with mounting screws. Attach two plugs, find four compatible screws to mount it to the box, close box, format, and done.

    • Perfect server drives
I have purchased six of these and run them in my plex server that I have on a rack mount in the basement closet running 24/7. I have been running these for the last 4 years and they are still going great. Seen lots of people complaining about the noise, and yes they are very noisy, and they do heat up. These drives are not purposed for normal PC use. Now yes you can use them like that. maybe in a it's all you have on hand at the moment but The best use case for these is server use. Again that's how I have mine set up and they have not failed in many years of use. But the price to performance/ capacity you get is kind of unmatched. Doesn't mean there isn't a better deal out there cause you may be able to find some WD reds for a better price point but that's going to be The exception and not the rule. Installed, formatted, and running silent in 10 minutes. We'll see if it outlasts the 2 year warranty. If so, it's well worth the price for 4TB in my camera system.

    • Worth the savings
Great hard drive, super quiet and effective. A bit of storage loss due to being a refurb, but worth the savings. Have had to swap this between several machines with no problems from the drive.
