It has been one year since I purchased this pan. I really liked it until now. While cooking egg whites I noticed gray spots that came up on to the egg white. The pan is releasing something onto the food, obviously, and I'm sure it is not healthy. I will not be using the pan anymore. I've never used high heat and always washed by hand. This is a premium non stick pan with a handle angle I love. It is large, best for an omelette for two. Use a wooden spatula or polymer, not metal of course.

I generally don't write reviews, much less poor reviews. But, I had to share my experience. My wife and I enjoy cooking together and aren't afraid to spend money on high end cookware, cooking appliances and grills. We already own a nice collection of Le Creuset cookware, but wanted to add copper pans to our assortment. Instead of buying the copper M'250 set from Mauviel right out of the gate, we needed a new non-stick pan and wanted to give the M5242.26 a shot (not the same pan advertised, but same family). So, we ordered directly from Mauviel (order # 180059 placed on 4/12/18). Not a ton of money, but $224.95 for the pan and shipping. At least we'll get the feel for the cookware and the company (if we had any issues). At first, we loved the pan. We're a little OCD, so we always hand wash and dry our pans after dinner so we can put them away before bed. For the past 5-6 months, we noticed the non-stick film begin to peel away from the pan (see pics above). So, I called Mauviel directly to see if we had options. I don't mind paying for the repairs (if possible) considering the pan is almost 2 years old. I was able to speak with the lady who answered my call (very sweet lady for the record), but was transferred to another lady who handles consumer warranty. I left a voicemail for her. It was around the holidays, and I never received a call back.....which I understand considering it was a little before Christmas time. So, after Christmas, I decided to call again. I was directed to the same lady, I left another voicemail and never received a call back. So, after two attempts to talk to someone with no response, I decided to call again, and send an email the same day. This time I was told the lady is on vacation, but she will return the following Wednesday 1/8. Here we are, close to three weeks after the lady is supposed to return from vacation, three voicemails, an email and still haven't received a call, an email or anything. Even if it was a simple email saying, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do". I can live with that. Some type of communication would've been appreciated. Needless to say, I'm happy my wife and I decided not to purchase the M'250 set. Its a shame such an acclaimed brand won't even return a customer's call / email. The cookware looks beautiful, but our experience with Mauviel USA has led us towards Matfer Bourgeat (Mauviel's competitor). My review is not to "bash", but simply share the facts of my experience.
