This is actually my first grill, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it’s been super easy to learn and use from day one. I’ve always loved charcoal cooking, but I used to hate how much attention it needed. This thing changed that for me. It’s so easy to use and operate—I can load it up, set the temp, and actually go hang out instead of babysitting the fire. It just works. No stress, no constant adjustments. What really sold me is how consistent it is. I’ll throw on ribs or burgers and trust that it’s going to hold steady the whole time. And the flavor? Still that classic smoky charcoal taste I grew up loving. It’s made grilling feel fun again for me—less work, more time enjoying it with family and friends. I honestly find myself using it way more than I expected.

Fan will not kick on!!!!

Very difficult to put together. Once constructed, the fan did not work--even after troubleshooting. I am still trying to connect with customer service for assistance or replacement parts. Or a new grill. Looks like it could be a good unit, but does not function.

In my opinion this is one awesome grill. The ability to dial in your temperature is the key. I know that if the tech breaks the grill is out of order, but so far (Approx. 1 mth) everything is great. I have done chicken, ribs, steaks, butts and veggies and it does low and slow to hot and fast. The advantage of using your own charcoal, lump wood and chips is also key. I will say it is a bit of a tough build. There a lot of parts and the instructions do not have any words. (Saves money on printing for different languages I would suspect) took me several hours and a couple of head scratches to complete. Capacity of this grill is pretty good a had two butts on the top rack, ribs and chicken on the bottom. It was full but cooked everything. The internal grill temp stays within 1 to 2 degrees when set. The value for the money on this 'controlled temperature' grill is great when compared to pellet grills. Would highly recommend this grill at this point in its use. It is my best grill to date.

Best grill there is! I wish we had gotten one sooner. It’s so easy to control from the app and it takes the guess out of charcoal grilling. I like the gravity feature so you can add charcoal and not worry about hot spots. Bonus that it also lights the charcoal with the fire starter and you can leave it to come to temp. Definitely recommending to my friends and family.

The Masterbuilt Gravity Series 600 is a very interesting and well-built grill with some impressive technology, but there were a couple of things I did not fully anticipate when ordering it that potential buyers should know about. First, the build quality and design are excellent. The grill feels sturdy and thoughtfully engineered, and the GravityFed™ charcoal hopper system is a clever concept that makes managing charcoal much easier than with a traditional charcoal grill. The digital controls and WiFi connectivity are also very convenient. Being able to monitor and adjust temperature from your phone is a great feature, especially for longer cooks like smoking meats. Temperature control is consistent and stable, which is something many charcoal grills struggle with. However, there are two important considerations. The first is that this grill requires electricity because of the digital control system and fan. Many people (myself included) might assume that a charcoal grill is purely mechanical and can simply live outdoors year-round. Because this unit relies on electrical components, I would not feel comfortable leaving it exposed to rain or the elements. It really needs a cover or a protected space, and the cover is sold separately. If your patio is uncovered like mine, this is something you should plan for. The second surprise is how the cooking works. The grill heats by induction rather than direct flame contact, which means you do not get the traditional grill marks or strong charcoal flavor many people expect from a charcoal grill. For those classic grill marks, you would need to sear separately on a stovetop pan or another grill surface. For people specifically choosing charcoal to get that smoky sear, this may feel like it defeats the purpose. That said, the grill still performs well for controlled cooking and smoking, and the temperature regulation system works very nicely. If you’re looking for a tech-forward charcoal cooker with precise control, it’s a solid option. Just be aware that you’ll likely want a cover or sheltered space for it, and the cooking style is a bit different from a traditional charcoal grill. Overall, I’m giving it four stars for its innovative design and reliable performance, with a few caveats that buyers should know before purchasing.

I’ve been a long time propane grill user, mainly because of the ease of use of simply turning it on. This grill has completely blown my mind, charcoal, lump, charcoal, hardwood for smoking, can all be fed into this thing depending on your preferences, I especially like how it can get up to 700°, absolutely outrageous in the best possible way. Thanks to the digital temperature controls, you just said it at whatever temp you want, and it will maintain that temp. It’s miraculous really. I ended up going with the 600, which I believe will fit a whole turkey, but nothing else, I could see a world where it would be nice to have the 800 for large parties, I was able to grill three spatchcock chickens on this one, but it was a bit tight. Overall, this is an incredible piece of grilling equipment. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I got this Masterbuilt Gravity Series 600 grill and smoker this week. After I opened it and put it together, I started to snap all the wires together. I then noticed that the wire leading to the censor on the bottom of the hopper/ash door was stripped/melted. This means that the fan that regulates temperature for the smoker/grill will not kick on, making this item nothing but a hunk of steel at the moment. I will update this review once the email I have sent Masterbuilt has been replied too and hopefully they can send me a new censor/wire for the bottom of the hopper/ash door.
